SUSAN decided to make the dislike bar on Youtube invisible

Postby Netherrealmer » 31 Mar 2021, 11:55

Many creators got their feelings hurt because some bloke or broad dislikes their videos, while politicians paid their trolls to dislike videos that criticizes them. Then the official channel of Susan, the Youtube CEO is getting dislike bombed by members.....

In the near future, Youtube announced that they will get rid of the visibility of the dislike count. Only the uploader can see the number of dislikes. They said it is to stop bullying and harassment of Susan oops I mean creators.

Oh, you said "in the near future" because I jumped up to tell you it's still there. Lol. I think you're right though. It's the reactions to that channel that has prompted this. I'm not sure how making the button invisible ties in to stopping bullying and harassment but we'll see I guess.

I think automatically deleting hurtful comments is better. Like and dislike should be visible for transparency.

This is why I love odysee so many mean comments and dislikes and no one can do anything about it. But noe even on odysee they gave the option to ban people from comments lol Youtube should change their name to BitchTube lol that site is so soft. it's like My Little Pony

Youtube is slowly turning into North Korea. Dislikes should stay visible.

Let me see if I understood this, now people can only like, it is no longer possible to dislike a video on YouTube? That is insane, people only want compliments, sound they can handle the critics.

You can dislike but your dislike will be invisible which makes it useless.

Yes North Korea and China lol I don't know but I think this is what will help alt tech video sites rise. People will tired of youtube. But I still like it mostly just to stream music.

A dislike in genuine manner is fine. Yet we had a few dislikes on our videos where someone disliked and commented rubbish. He (or she)(identity not clear...) wrote something totally unrelated to what we had shown.
Genuine dislikes are ok, but how can we know which is genuine, which is not?

...and if they're going to hide the 'dislikes' they might as well hide the 'likes' too. Speaking of deleting certain comments, I noticed that the discussion section has been disabled in many of the information platforms I visit. They did this because of all the fights and 'terrorism' that took place there. Check it - you'll find that no one can comment after reading anything especially on those prominent media.

Perhaps some restrictions were placed on those media due to certain reasons.
Yet if something is done to please someone then it is not fine.
