Do you believe in political surveys?

Postby Netherrealmer » 29 May 2021, 18:33

Media always use political surveys from companies like Nielsen or Pulse Asia to estimate the approval of a political administration or who will win an election. I don't believe them because never in my life someone approach to answer such survey. Also all of the people I know, I asked them if they answered such survey and they said they never encounter anyone who asked a political survey. They said surveys are made by questioning 1000 people. I don't think 1000 people can dictate political opinions of a million. I believe these surveys are used to spread propagandas online via media and internet.

Maybe they are unbelievable, but these are the only surveys where I get qualified 100% . So I don't miss the opportunity to run them, because I can do the survey until the end getting full rewards  .

Yes, I supposed you meant the Qualtrics paid political surveys. I sometimes receive them, along all year, near or far to the election season. And always qualify. I don't remember about other kind and no paid of political surveys. At least, in my area we only receive Qualtrics paid political surveys.

Maybe I have not researched enough to encounter how these political surveys are conducted, the frequency and who are mandated to conduct them both locally and internationally. Also how they are released for public scrutiny and review.

Political surveys are resorted to by some candidates to determine their winnabilityin a forthcoming election. It gives them the direction on where to focus their machineries. Political surveys are believable depending on who is conducting the survey.

This is the simple truth. People have different agendas and depending on what that is, the results may be trustworthy (or not). Some are credible and just want to report the truth, while others would manipulate in whatever way necessary to bring forth the exact result they wanted.

Yes, I have been approached by actual people conducting this kind of survey. I don't know how effective these surveys are but a thousand people may not be enough to represent the voice of the mass. Even when the demographics are spread out, it doesn't seem sufficient to tell what will happen.

Strangely enough although I have done plenty of online political surveys I have never had anyone approach me in the street .. but that could be because the minute I see them walking towards me I say "No thanks!"

I have not come across a full-length political survey as such, neither online nor on street. However, I have got few surveys where they end up by few questions to know us better and there I have encountered few questions asking about the political inclination or rating the current government on certain criterias.

In conducting surveys the sample respondents must be chosen based on a statistical data for a more accurate result. Surveys must be conducted by qualified and experts.

I always see such political surveys results too but I don't believe them. Very few people agree to participate in them and most of them reply to such surveys with so much jokes.
