So yes the net went down for many sites this past morning. I sleep in late so I didn't even affect me lol. It was only for a half hour that I slept through it. This was not a hack it was some people testing things on the servers and they made a mistake lol..
Here is mutahar talking about it. What do you all think about this?

I had been trying to access Wired at the time it went down and the site was showing an error. Other than that I didn't notice anything. The problem arose, when one customer of Fastly changed their settings - more here on the BBC.

I missed the fun but atleast they were honest about the issue and the cause aswell as the fact it was a software bug on their side. Could of been easy just to say that they will look into the cause a release their finding after the post mortem and then never really publicly admit it as their fault or do it discreetly when everyone has forgotten about it and moved on. Thankfully the best site on the internet was still online... we were not affected

I am not aware of such an issue. I do check news but on weekends there are more things to do so sometimes miss on some news.
Hopefully things are going fine in overall Internet world.

LoL I was down with fever, so I didn't even have the strength to do anything online during that period. I guess does who experienced it must have been in a state of panic.

A few days back on the news they kept talking Amazon having a major outage and businesses and individuals were affected, people could not get access, blah blah blah. I was wondering "Really? Is this happening where I live?" Because everything was normal.

Usually if the internet is disconnected, it won't take the whole day unless it is the portal problem. Then it might take 72 hrs to fix it

My WiFi went down a few days back. I had to call the customer support, so now it's doing fine.

For the most part our Internet service provider is very reliable. We have been using them for at least 5 years. We did not have a choice. They provide the service for the entire apartment complex. But I would say that in the past 5 years, we have probably had to call them to fix something about 5 times. That's once a year. Not bad at all!
