Zoom meetings

Postby bestwriter » 19 Aug 2021, 09:24

Have you ever been part of a zoom meeting? My family had one to celebrate a golden wedding anniversary but I did not attend.

I have downloaded the zoom app and planning to have a meeting of Trustees of my Trust. Waiting to complete some formalities though. I have opted for only voice as I am not sure if all Trustees will have the webcam.

What about you?

I havent hugged my parents for a year and a half but skype keeps me close to them. It is because of the Pandemic, I do my online classes as a teacher via zoom.

You have made great strides I notice. You excel in everything you lay your hands on. Great going there. Not being able to hug our loved ones is indeed a sad thing.

My old company used to do Happy Hour on Zoom. I used it a few times and it was fine. Didn't find it any better or worse than other apps like Skype. Now my new company uses Microsoft Teams and we don't do video chats so I don't even have Zoom any more.

Yes i have attended zoom meetings a few times and it is very convenient, at least even if you don't get to see your friends and family often you can interact via zoom, and you get to see everyone at the same time.

I think these are organised whenever there is an event and all must find the time set to be convenient Wonder how that is managed. It must be a lot of work for the organiser.

Since the pandemic all our work calls are on Zoom, I've also had some family get togethers on Zoom. It works great and I really enjoy it. Takes a little getting used to, being on camera, but once you get familiar with it you become much more comfortable with it.

You probably know already, but you can use it for free in a limited way if you still want to use Zoom for personal calls.

All those who own businesses will have no other alternative as also the wish to interact with family where everyone sees each other and that surely is a reason to join a Zoom Meet.

I conduct classes either through Zoom or Google Meet. Zoom has features that are very useful for class activities. I'm not sure if Google Meet already has a counterpart feature for Breakout. Due to the pandemic, many aspects of our lives are being conducted virtually. My cousin died in the US last month and we were able to witness his memorial ceremony through Zoom.

I still use Zoom to visit with my son and three grandkids that live 3,000 miles away, but the Pandemic is no the motivation for it. We have done it for many years.

Was it because you have not been visiting each other?

True, but only because my health has been a challeng without the Pandemic. I can barely get out of bed each morning most days, let alone make a trip like that.

For them to visit here, it is cost prohibetive for a family of five.

I know a lot of people who are using zoom to run online classes. I am even thinking to do that one of these days.

The single phrase that kills more dreams than any other is . . . . "One Of These Days".

Today we had like 50th zoom meeting since pandemic start. Guess what?
Some people still forgot mute microphone so we hear kids and other background noise.
Sometimes two person in same room listen same meeting and when one turn microphone we got cacophony sound and it is not pleasent at all.
