Sounds good especially for those with a fear of needles although I personally don't mind them. It might persuade more people to get vaccinated and would be great for kids when it's time for them to receive a vaccine.

They are now planning to let the younger generation to go for it as this intra dermal administration may not be effective on the older people - perhaps thick skin?

They may just press it down on the skin and I suppose it could be at any place in the body. I have heard about the oral vaccine but I am not aware if it is already in use.

This is a much needed development and there was a news article a few days back which talked about some developments on this front.

I also read this news of vaccine for oral use. For sure is more confortable and easy to take, hopefully we could dorectly take in the pharmacy and don t lose hours in med center. (like we do here in italy )

I see no further developments. Looks like they have shelved the idea for the time being.

If it really works , i guess many countries would follow suit, but does it guarantee full protection and the cost, can the government cover the expenses

The only vaccination that ever lift a mark on me is the Smallpox which was given when I was small. It did leave a round white mark, sometimes quite big on certain skin types, but mine was really small and I can't see it at all now. I'm surprised to hear that you get keloids. I think there is a way to get rid of these as some people get them with piercings.

I didn't know that is was possible to have keloids because of nails, I always thought a more traumatic intervention was needed for that.

Childhood IPV, OPV vaccines that we get in India for TB, Measles, Diptheria, Pertussis and a few more diseases do leave marks around the upper arm.
But yes, Oral vaccines like the Polio drops we have in India are good, especially for the younger kids.
