Fake News vs Satire starring The Onion
The founding editor (The Onion) said he's sick and tired of fake news sites (and spreaders) claiming to be satire. He claims that they are using the satire platform as a crutch for their lies. And by the way, The Onion is authentic in its presentation of information. All else is fraud aka fake news. Right? Right! 😂 He said if someone takes seriously the writings in The Onion it's because such a one doesn't know better. I agree! Who uses this outlet as their main source of news? Unfortunately quite a number, many of whom have the ways and means to know better (clunk, clunk). This is true that many folks share content from here and try to convince others that it's for real.
The worst ones (fake news) I remember were all spread through Facebook. One of them reported that Donald Trump (former US President) was trying to get Mike Pence (former US Vice President) impeached. Another one was that Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (US Rep) had proposed a ban on motorcycles. The sad thing about fake news is that some folks want to believe the misinformation so much that they won't bother to verify its authenticity.
