Recently, I discovered that the camera on my laptop cannot turn on. I have tried to resolve this issue in several ways to no avail. For instance, I have checked my Device Manager and ascertained that the camera is turned on and that all apps have access to it. I have also temporarily paused my antivirus software to check whether it was causing the problem. My investigation has indicated that the antivirus is not the cause for the issue. Can someone please offer insights into how I can address this problem?

Update drive.
Start Camera app and see what error message or number shows. Google error message.
Start microphone. Often is embed in camera. Check error message.

Maybe camera is broken like in my case. Now I don't have camera or microphone.

I'm curious: what do you mean by 'camera is broken'? Kindly elaborate as I'm keen on investigating based on this angle. Incidentally, I recently discovered that I cannot use my microphone.

That part is broke. Like USB port is broke and don't detect any USB flash drive, same happend to my camera.
It doesn't work anymore.

Uninstall the driver. Restart , reinstall the driver, preferanly updated version. Then restart

If you have checked and confirmed that it is on but unable to capture images, the webcam itself is probably defective. The same thing happened to my webcam. It's on but it cannot capture images. I'm getting a blank screen whenever I join online classes. I have already reported this to the technician and hopefully, I'll get the replacement parts next week. Do try to check too if you have accidentally pressed the F8 or the camera key.
