Has Your Smartphone Replaced Your Digital Cameras?

There was a time when I would parade around with my various cameras gifted to me by my brother. It was always an exciting event to get another one and especially when he convinced me it's better than the one before. For some time now, I notice I'd rather take pics with my phone than with cameras. It's more convenient and I find that the photos taken by phone are of top quality, just as good as the cameras. In some cases they turn out even better. Do you have the same experience?

I like taking photos but I'm not a professional, just a hobbyist. The phone makes it easier for me to run around and get a quick snap whenever I want. The same with videos. I make videos using the phone and they come out of such quality you couldn't tell the difference. Are you still using your cameras, or does the phone suffice?

Yes, camera on the smartphones is a great facility and convenience. The quality of these smartphone cameras have evolved and are adequate for our current needs. It now acts as a constant companion for the casual photographers.

Yeah, it seems like many people don't even bother themselves with taking along a camera specifically for photos these days. The phone does it all I guess and is adequate as you said.

The ease, convenience, and quality of the phone's camera could be convincing enough to make you dismiss the need for a camera itself. :)

I used to use a digital camera but since the smartphone has come out, I use that. sometimes you have to either get more storage or transfer to a home computer so it does not fill up your phone storage

With the kind of high end quality camera that's been upgraded in smartphone lately, it's very easy for it to replace the good old orthodox digital camera we used to make love so much.

Just take a look at what Apple have done with most of their recent iPhone, it's insane with the pixel quality of their cameras. If you have that, there isn't any need for another side camera for any reason whatsoever.

I can't speak for other people but in my experience, the answer is yes. In my opinion, smartphone cameras are steadily closing the gap on image quality versus digital cameras.

DSLR cameras are still a goto choice for a photographing enthusiast, though high end smartphones are increasingly becoming very powerful each day. As for the case of plain old digital cameras, I have one lying around useless for many years, forgetting to sell it to the junk dealer that visits our neighborhood.

I have always used my smartphone to take pictures . The picture and video quality is good enough for me , and the fact that I can just slid it into my pocket than carrying a camera around, way better mobility

This seems to be the opinion among others as well. Just recently a group of us were checking out the specs on some digital cameras and for the most part they didn't come close to that of the snartphones.

I hadn't had a digital camera in years until my boyfriend bought one from a rummage sale he went to on the way home from work. It didn't have everything that goes with it so I am selling it on eBay for a little money. I have been taking pictures and videos with my phone camera for so long that I forgot all about digital cameras. I can't really afford any digital cameras anytime soon so unless I get one as a gift I will stick to phone photos. So, yes my smartphone has replaced my digital cameras.

I use my phone to take photos of my best moments in life. I also submit passport photos, photos of documents to the relevant offices if requested in my job.

You Bet, and I replaced all those bulky photo albums I hardly ever opened with Amazon Prime unlimited photo storage and my Amazon Echo Show that sits on our kitchen counter and shows them all day. Alexa is cool.
