Prank Call Russian Officials - Hacktivist Site

Postby Fergal » 20 May 2022, 06:38

The https://wasterussiantime.today site was set up to allow visitors initiate prank calls between Russian officials. The ideas is to waste the time of these people so that they are distracted from any work that would support the invasion of Ukraine.

Have a look at the site and see what you think. Would you use a site like that, to play a small part in supporting Ukraine?

Edit / Update: I came across this site via a story on Wired. It seems the site is having some technical issues at the moment and is giving the message below when you try to make a call:

Sorry, but we still need to find one last issue, before we can start calling russians again. Follow us on Twitter @ringringrussia for updates!

Doing some mischief for the greater good is so cool. Getting like a RobinHood kind of a feeling in this activity. I hope the issue gets sorted soon and the site gets back on track.

Seems like the site only operates during Russian office hours. It is currently showing this message when you click the call button there:

Since thereʼs no fun calling people out-of-office, and the Russians called it a day already, weʼll be back on monday.

The site is up and running again! This is such a nice way to support Ukrainians. It is basically a free thing to do so many people who are on a tight budget (in other words, those that can't donate cash right now for humanitarian aid) can still show their support for Ukraine.

There must have been a big demand and a lot of traffic to the site, it is currently showing the message below when I try to make a call. Maybe someday I will get to make a call from it and it will work :)

So, the rush was too much - we blow diligently and report when we are back! Follow us on Twitter @ringringrussia for updates.
