Interesting topic. There is yet another big reason to keep your equipment as clean as possible.
Back in time when it was common to have repair shops for almost everything, I worked with a repair service network. There were something around 65 different services involved. The only thing they had in common was that they repaired something. For example, computers, TVs, sewing machines, restaurant equipment, electric tools, musical equipment and much more.
As I worked with all of them in the network, there was one detail I noted over time. Almost every repair only involved cleaning. Accumulated dirt, dust and other debris makes things operate poorly. It was actually quite rare for any parts needed to complete the repair.
Clean everything and make a point of lubricating any moving parts. Take time at least once a year to open the case and blow out the dust that collects inside, especially any fans or cooling devices. Not only for sanitation reasons, but also to keep everything operating without issues.
