What are your thoughts on smartwatches?

Postby MattTolentino02 » 25 Jul 2022, 05:52

I've never owned a smartwatch. However, when I was browsing for various things online, I found out that some smartwatches are sold locally for just 40 USD. I'm not a huge fitness buff and it seems like smartwatches are made for people who really exercise on a regular basis. Because of this fact, I'm not sure if I should get one. How about you? Do you own or have you used a smartwatch?

People who fantasized about them from the 1960s scifi will be dissapointed how useless they are.

I have never really been interested in smartwatches. Maybe it's because I am not into fitness.

Yes, there is no need in watches at all now. Wheather they are smart or not.
By the way, video bloggers very often wear watches. Maybe it is handy for them or just a kind of decoration.

I never owned one. I'd like to own one but I don't think I need it so much. I found several ones that are sold for a much cheaper price but I'm pretty sure the quality is poor.

I never had a smartwatch. One of my colleagues in the office is using a smartwatch for healthcare purposes. It costs around 50 USD.

I liked the normal wrist watches a long time ago but since I got a smartphone I found watches to be of no use.

I would consider it if I am athlete. In this case it is more precise than smartphone. It has few more sensors and since it touch skin, it can show more precise results.

I wore a Garmin when I was on a recovery program from Open Heart Surgery that transmitted my vitals to the doctor's office in real-time, but I don't even know where it is now. I never did like wearing it, but I got it free from my health insurance so I wore it as long as I had to.

No, I have never owned one. But, what I do like are wrist pedometers, which can be found at around $5 to $6 (US currency). Everything I own breaks on me. Then, I would never be able to figure out how to use a smartwatch.

Honestly, I am with you. I own an Apple Smartwatch and I really only use it for the time. lol I have tracked how many miles I ran a few different times. But apart from that, I don't use it much. Though I have friends who use them for text messages and phone calls also. I'm just not a fan of them. :D
