So this means my HBO max subscription is going to have a larger library, though discovery only have documentaries and reality shows, I am happy for having a bigger library. This merger though caused the cancelation of Batgirl and possibly The Flash because merging of companies caused them to pay taxes and the Batgirl movie becomes the collateral.

I wonder if this will affect the subscription fee later on. A larger library is not always necessary either, especially when you're not interested in those other type of programs.

They made a bad decision of Merging when they have movies about to release. Because of the merger, finished movies got canceled and shelved due to tax issues.

Both companies would have calculated a lot before canceling the movies.
On a lighter note, may be they could have hired better CAs to help them in saving some taxes !!

The merge is good for Discovery+. They're not very popular as a standalone streaming platform. With the merge, their content will definitely get more exposure. Not sure how advantageous it is for HBO Max to merge though. I guess they will have a bigger catalogue of movies/shows, but not sure how much that'll help them.

I think they merge because they want to beat Disney. They are even inviting Universal to join the merger because of Disney.

Max launched today in the USA. Apparently it has 2x more content, lots of 4k, and it costs more. My HBO Max app already stopped working so the new Max app has to be downloaded.

It's going to be launched worldwide at the end of 2023.

Here in India , JioCinema added all of HBO Max's library , because so far , HBO Max is not here in India
