Watch Batteries

Postby Spontaneo » 20 Aug 2022, 02:15

Why is it so hard to find a replacement battery for a watch? Around here, finding a replacement is impossible.

Do you know of a store that replaces batteries for your watch? If so, what store?

You are probably looking for a store you can walk into, but have you considered Amazon Spontaneo?

Even if I could find a battery online, how would I put the battery in the watch? Thank you for the advice though.

Good point, is it possible for you to take the watch back to the shop, from where it was bought?

Battery for regular watch is not hard to change but you must have very tiny tool for it. Also most models have similar battery. In my area we have two shops where you bring watch and they replace it for you.

If you talk about smartwatch, than story is different.

Thank you! I never thought to look online! I am just the opposite of most people. The last thing I do is google it. I never think to google.

Nope. Around here, you can only buy the watch and once the battery dies, that's it.

Here in the US, there are many places to walk in and purchase batteries and there are dozens of variations, especially in the small "button" style batteries.

If needed and you don't have the small tools to open the case, try a local jewelry shop. Many of them will replace batteries for you, even if they didn't sell the battery. Some of them also sell the batteries or charge a small fee but there are many who will install a battery you bring in at no cost as a good will gesture in hopes you will come back as a paying customer for items they sell.

Remove the old battery from your watch. Find out the model code and watt of the battery. Search online, try shoppee, amazon ,lazada. For local store, you can try diy store, hardware shop , watch shop

This battery from image above you can find in any better store with electronics. That type of battery is not only for watch. It is for smaller devices to. I saw it in digital scale or multimeters.
If you look amazon it will show it together.

I think you should bring with you the watch to any watch store and they do the replacement for you for a fee.

There are no watch stores near me. Anyway, jewelry stores are way too expensive.

Installing a watch battery would be way too difficult for me. The best way to go is a new watch online.

Thank you all for your suggestions!

There are a lot of watch repair shops here so finding batteries is quite easy for us.
