What is cloud based storage? How can we use it, is it free?

Cloud based storage is name for all file systems in cloud. Most popular are Google Disk, OneDrive and Dropbox as first of those. There are many alternatives. Most give some free space like 15GB on Google Disk or 5GB on OneDrive.

Cloud based storage is something similar to the one which you store on the mobile phone, and laptops. In cloud storage, you'll be storing the data on a virtual storage device called a cloud. In local storage, you can access your data even without an internet connection whereas in cloud storage you need the internet mandatorily to retrieve files and data.

Examples of cloud storage, Mega Upload, Pcloud, Gdrive, One drive.

I use Dropbox for years I never had a problem with them the system does not disturb anything and works fine.

Dropbox is really an amazing tool. I am also using it for several years.

I think Dropbox was first app of these type. Later come Google Disk or Skydrive (predecessor of OneDrive) with embed apps like Spreadsheet(Excel), Docs or Word.

Cloud storage is available several years before. People use hosting servers with storage as a cloud before google drives, one drives, pcloud.
