Well, should I answer the title of the topic, or the content of your post?
In response to the title of your post:People older than cell phones would easily be able to transition back to what we used to call talking in full sentences, face to face with others nearby. People born with all the more recent technology in place would be lost to gestures and shrugs if they even tried to speak to someone next to them.

Come to think of it, you might even learn to pick up a pen or pencil and write something on paper.
If someone was across the room or farther than normal speaking voice could be heard, we used to be able to just holler loud enough for them to be able to still hear us, at least to get their attention and draw closer for what we used to call a conversation.
In response to the text of your post:It is always good to take a break from the constant barrage of electronic communications. No matter the generation involved, you can eventually get burned out from the constant interruptions of all the various online communications that are common with today's society.
I'm almost surprised to see that you actually picked up a book to read. I thought books were just about forgotten among the younger generation. Glad to see that good old fashion pre computer technology still has a chance.
