Elon Musk is threatened by Mastodon

Postby Netherrealmer » 07 Nov 2022, 16:16

Mastodon got 270 new members in one day after they do not like some of the new rules of Twitter about the Blue Tick.

He is now being bitter against Mastodon.

Mastodon tries to stay Civil and just thankful for the Blue tick people who doesn't want to pay 8 dollars. Mastadon is still barebones but it is growing, I tried to promote my stuff there while its early, since it is a new platform, its the early bird who catches the Heidi Klum Halloween costume 2022.

As I read Mastodon have complete different approach than Twitter so people are little confused how to use it.

I just saw a new report that saya Musk is asking some of the Twitter employees he laid off to come back.

It's bad enough to be told that you have been laid off just before the holiday season kicks in. But then your boss asks you to come back. (???) What kind of a working relationship can you have with an employer who switches OFF and ON in the blink of an eye?

If you were the employee, would you go back?
How do you know he won't send you another eMail and lay you off again?

I guess it depends on how bad you need the income to continue until you find something better. Don't forget, you always have the right to quit in the blink of an eye too, which I have done before. When I worked as a job-shop tool and die maker, it was not uncommon at all for an employee to quit a job and roll his rollaway down the block to start another one the same day.

In all the jobs where I've worked, we had to give a two-weeks notice.

Guess my point really as that I don't trust Elon Musk. His actions are always suspicious to me.

I don't believe there is any law that requires a two-week notice, it's just a suggestion. In most situations, the employers are glad to get you out of their shop sooner, as long as you are going to leave anyway. These are smaller shops where there is a close-knit relationship between most of those who work there and it would distract employees from doing what they are paid for.

Uumm ... I worked for a financial institution and then for the federal government. It never occurred to me to check to see if there was a law regarding two-weeks notice. I just took their word for it.

All is not well with the way Musk goes about. There is no professionalism in his approach.

Unlike the white supremacist text soc med gab and the maga soc med Truth social, I think Mastodon has potential to rise because its neutral and meant to be non profit.

AMEN! Not only are his actions unprofessional, it seems he lacks human compassion, he is inconsiderate and uncaring, and I could say a lot more. But I'm sure catch my drift.

Just a point of reference. You might remember this. My memory is a little fuzzy. But a few years back, I think the board of directors (or some decision-making body for the company) for Twitter wanted to sack Jack Dorsey. Some excuse about him being unable to turn Twitter into a money-making machine blah blah blah. Whatever! To my surprise, the Twitter employees rose to Jack Dorsey's defense. In the end, they did not sack him.

BY CONTRAST ... and this is just my guess. If the same thing were to happen to Elon Musk, I'm not sure who would be ready to rise up and go to bat for him!

I visited Mastadon. I'm not too crazy about this site. However, the other day I as on Instagram and I liked the way they display the activity now. I find it easier to browse through and comment. Maybe it's my imagination but it seems easier than it used to be. At any rate, I am now encouraged to do more on my Instagram than what I was doing before.

Last news I heard was Musk told the employees to expect the company to file for bankruptcy next year since it wasn't making any money. Dang! That's a bleak outlook. What? All those "fake accounts with the blue check marks" didn't bring in any money?

I don't think mastadon will be able to compete with facebook and twitter they monetize peoples pages and allow us to make money. If a site is non profit it means they have no money for me lol
I saw people on twitter making fun of mastadon lol
I can't wait for Elon to monetize profiles.. when he does you will see those bitter freedom of speech hating
blue checks crawling back lol
