Why Would You Want to Join "Twitter Blue"?

Postby friendociate » 22 Jan 2023, 15:38

Well, Twitter suggests a few reasons ...Image

... and in case the image isn't visible,
    basically
  • you get a blue checkmark (no longer a verification that you are 'the celebrity who goes by your Twitter-ID' but rather that you are 'a human with a credit-card (rather than a SPAM-bot)')
  • (COMING SOON) your tweets are "prioritized"---'favored by the algorithm' to 'Rocket them to the top of Replies, Mentions & Search' to get them in your followers eyes before they see the SPAMbots' scams
  • "Post longer videos" ... I didn't know you could post vids directly to Twitter
  • (COMING SOON) you'll block half the ad that non-subscribers see (I almost skipped this feature, as I think my AdBlock Suite blocks all the ads!)
  • early access to the new features Twitter Blue Labs is always developing

I finally terminated my Twitter accounts and have not missed them one bit.

I would have no way of knowing if there was one, I have never been back.

Do you ever 'search for your own screennames on the search-engine'?

I am happy with my current Twitter usage.
I am fine with the advertisements unless they are in a bad taste or spirit.
May be if one has a huge number of followers- perhaps above 10K, they could need such a feature.

For my business, a verified Twitter account makes customers trust the brand more.

As it stands now, I would get the Twitter blue because I love reading as many tweets as possible. Unverified accounts can't read more than 600 tweets and I don't like that.

I am comfortable with working with the unverified account since I am not very active there.

Twitter, currently X, has become a chaotic social media site. Since Musk took control of this social media giant, he has infected it with his wild ideas.

I bet if someone comes up with a worthy competitor, X will gradually fade into oblivion.

I don't see any reason as to why l should disturb myself with paying for something that it's of no use to me.

I'm a bit confused. Is twitter blue similar with X?

By the way, I seldom use or open my Twitter which is now X.

Is there a way to earn the blue without paying? How?

I personally do not see the need of parting with my money so as to attain a blue checkmark on my Twitter account. Perhaps this decision is informed by the fact that I don't have a lot of money to spend. I am okay with that designation.

It would be feasible if I had a business that has a huge online presence. Apart from that, it doesn't look like it is worth it.
