Yes, if you install and remove to much, your files take longer to be found because they are not together and had to fill the empty spaces from the files you removed. I recommend you to do a disk defragmentation once a year

Defragmentation won't delete your files. Don't worry! Defragmentation will reduce the time that your computer spend to access to your files. Sometimes we should use that application... I should do it more often!

My younger brother is the one who has expertise in computer and what i have noticed and what he told me, it is important because as what hugop said, it will arrange the file in your comluter, it will also quite reduce lags in pc.

It's important to defragment your HDD, but whatever you do, never defragment an SSD!

When your computer writes data to your drive, it does in "blocks" that are ordered sequentially from one side of the drive's platter to the other. Fragmentation happens when those files get split between blocks that are far away from each other.
The hard drive then takes longer to read that file because the read head has to "visit" multiple spots on the platter. Defragmentation puts those blocks back in sequential order, so your drive head doesn't have to run around the entire platter to read a single file.
