Another blue check mark on the market

Postby mrki444 » 13 May 2023, 22:18

After Twitter and its failed adventure with blue check mark, another tech company decided to introduce same thing. It's about Google and Gmail. Now a blue check mark will indicate the confirmed identity of the sender of the e-mail. The goal is to prevent spam email and other unwanted mail. The exact verification process is still not accurate even it will for sure include phone number.

Some celebrities accually pay for blue mark so for them it might be profitible but it's abosulutly pointless

They didn't mention any charging method. Here is idea stop spammers. Spammers will harder confirm their mails since they often don't have company or they have fake data.

It will defintely be for registered company holders. Company will take action and verified email as fastest they. Nobody likes when their email is marked as spam.

I can tell most non-spam emails because it will be marked important automatically in my Inbox upon being received. This is completely redundant.

I think charging for the blue check mark was just greed. The people who had the check marks earned them by getting the followers and staying active with the all.

It don't have to be. I see many fake emails come troguh filters. Often are emails form Binance crypto exchange service. Not all spamers have low quality emails. Good, organized groups have excellent fake emails. If they don't verified email it will go in spam. In they verified it they will be able end up in court for cyber fraud allegations.

Interesting. What does google charge for this blue mark?

You are right to say that this program is likely to be inaccurate as a person can easily use a fake phone number to gain verification.

Google marks your incoming mail based on how you have trained its algorithms, based on your prior actions.
The idea of introducing a blue mark may thus not be entirely redundant.

Imagine a case where a genuine user with whom you have not interacted before sends you mail. I bet Google would not mark such mail as important, at least not immediately. You need to take actions that would enable the algorithms to determine that such mail is important.

Would this also be Paid? Google gives most things free.
