I think the YouTube video you have linked to is misleading. The reason is that, whilst this commentator claims that Reddit is dead, I've just made a post on this social media site.
I sure hope the video is simply meant to be a prank or something.

it is not a prank. some sections of reddit really can't be accessed..
and if things don't get fixed I think reddit would be done. We will see how it goes

This is what happened, Reddit decided to ban the 3rd party apps from allowing to access reddit via phone.They want phone users to use official reddit app. Which piss off many admins, admins decided to set their forums in private to make reddit stop this action. I dont think its working though since half of the admins thinks those admins are stupid and protesting wont work so they keep their forums open since it will affect pc users and app users. I cannot access the street fighter sub forums because of it.

This is some reassuring clarification. I was wondering if the whole of reddit is dead. The biggest forum in the world can't just die like that.

The biggest people affected by what Reddit is forcing is that Blind reddit users wont be able to use reddit anymore since the 3rd party apps have an audio option and reddit app dont.

It's sad. I joined Reddit but was never active there. But I know that it is a very popular site and many would not be happy with it going down.

It is not going down the protest against though failed. The users ends up hating the admins of forums instead of reddit for setting communities private for the sake of protesting.

Just because a random guy says Reddit is dead does not mean reddit is actually dead. While it might not be growing just like Tiktok but it is still a powerful community.

I have a Reddit account but haven't logged in for yonks, so I've been blissfully unaware of all this drama. Thank God this is all hot air that will no doubt soon blow over. I doubt that small handful of forum admins will succeed in bringing the site to its knees, so they better fall in line and stay in their lane - or ship out!

I have heard a lot about Reddit.
Never used it though.
I have heard some very negative points about a few forums there.
However, I think that this could be more of a Technical snag as Reddit is big in its own sphere.

I don't use reddit but i doubt the whole site or section of the site is dead, it might be that some section has been closed or something like that.

It would not bother me if it did go down. You can easily get sucked in to Reddit and end up spending more time than you intended and come out with nothing worthwhile from your effort.
