I am wondering, when sharing a phone's internet connection with a computer/PC does each gadget have its own unique IP address, or do both gadgets have the same ip address?
Can someone with insights on this matter please share?

On the other hand, a private IP address is used on your internal network for each device to connect to each other.
When you connect to the internet, the private IP address of each device is hidden, instead they will use the public IP address assigned by your ISP.
A public ip address is used to access the websites while a private IP address is used to access the network.germainebull wrote:Thank you for sharing your knowledge. But, you have me confused in a number of areas.
What do you mean by 'public IP address'?
Your remark suggests that there is a 'private IP address'. Which one is this?
