I have received an email update from Google indicating that the firm is revising its policy on inactive accounts.
As from December 1, 2023, Google will delete any account that has been inactive for 2 years.

What do you think informs these changes?

I think it's a great policy and will make it better for all of those who follow the rules.

There policy seems reasonable to me. Any account that hasn't been used for two years probably has no value whatsoever to the owner.

I have no problem with that as they have given out a longer grace period so to speak.

I don't think any user has intention of even going back to use any account he or she has not used in two years. It is a good policy if you ask me.

I have already read this info from Google. So, I keep on opening my five Google sites. Yahoo already started deleting old, accounts that are dormant for years. Unused sites served as the hiding place for scammers and web hackers.

Even with normal Sim card, they reassgin after 6 months of non usage. This move is completely not out of line.

In my view it is reasonable because usually when we remain inactive 2 months in any website then the site usually block our account, here time period is much more.

You shouldn't be expecting to use an account you have not logged into for the past two years again. They should save up some server space.
