As I went to create this topic and thought about my favorite, I was surprised that I don't really have one that appeals to me way more than the rest. Actually most characters in the games I've played don't have much personality, they are pretty blank, mostly by design. So these are the ones that came to my mind right away: Lucas Kane (Fahrenheit), Auron (Final Fantasy X), JC Denton (Deus Ex), Paul Denton (Deus Ex), James Sunderland (Silent Hill 2) and Joe (Beneath A Steel Sky)...
And I've chosen JC Denton. He is nano-augmented agent working for anti-terrorist coalition- UNATCO. He is very stoic and cold and in the beginning he is blindly following orders without thinking too much but as the game progresses, he uncovers the truth and rises against his former leaders. His actions are largely defined by the player. What sets him apart from the rest is excellent voice acting and interesting origin.

You men Quake III right? What do you mean active? He is just as active as any other character I like Klesk too, he's pretty weird looking and his shrieks are funny but still cannot beat Orb, the walking eyeball

Active means he runs so fast shrieking squeekily and within no time disappears. It takes a long time to kill him so many times i fell in the fire
Well I mean there are thousands of video games out their, and I like a lot of the characters form them. I would say my favorite would be Spyro from the Original Spyro games on Playstation 1. I used to LOVE those Spyro games and would spend all my free time playing them. I could care less about the new Spyro on the Skylanders games though, those games are really bad in my opinion. I also like a Sims 4 Sim I made, if that counts. He was a very interesting person to play with.. and things happened. XD But yeah there are tons of characters I could spend all day talking about so there isn't really one favorite of mine.
Claire Redfield from Resident evil. I will marry her if she exist. She survived multiple Zombie apocalypse and she is not a cop, soldier nor secret agent. She is a Social worker who works for children's welfare.
On Resident evil 2 she was a teenaged college student who works as a babysitter. So when she got trapped on a Zombie infested city, she risk her life to protect a little girl and save her life.
On Resident evil Code Veronica she was still a teen girl who survived a prison Island filled with zombies and monsters. There she met a teenage boy named Steve, They fell in love but the villain turned Steve into a monster, forcing her to kill her first love. This scene will make you cry
In resident evil degeneration, she is a social worker for orphaned children. A plane filled with zombies crashed on an airport. She got stuck on an airport with zombies and she survived again while saving the life of another child.
In Resident evil revelations 2, She is now 34 years old. Her life seemed to be improved but sadly her luck got bad again, She aside form a social worker, She works for an NGO that helps victims of zombie outbreak. She and her co employees got kidnapped by an evil scientist and put her on an Island filled with monsters stronger than zombies. Her patience is tested here because she is forced to protect a young woman who is afraid of guns and curses like a sailor. The young woman named Moira is so annoying but Claire protected her with all her patience.
I recall playing some video games on my son's smart phone when he acquired it new some 3 to 4 years back! I used to play the Angry Bird Video game! I love the characters of angry birds...they are very expressive! Indeed!
