LED of CD/DVD drive blinking continuously

For a desktop it was observed that the LED of the CD/DVD drive was blinking continuously though there was no CD in the computer, whenever the desktop was switched on. Has anyone else faced the same problem? How to solve the problem.

It could be a problem with the lens. The drive continues to read CD / DVD?
