Graphics matter little to me, however, I am a huge stickler for design, and balance (there's a bit of an overlap with how everything in the actual game is laid out).
Example, if I'm playing an RPG, gorgeous graphics, relatively stable or just lack of technical issues, but if I have to sift through 10 or 12 menus just to get to my inventory or something that I will need to constantly refer to, I'll quickly get annoyed and either look for a mod to make that more convenient, or stop playing sooner or later.
On the other end of design, regarding balance, if I have a selection of characters to choose from, but maybe only one or two characters or classes are viable (Diablo 2 was a big offender of this once you got to Hell difficulty), the game quickly becomes boring and playing other characters either is redundant or the artificial difficulty imposed makes the game more frustrating and tedious instead of legitimately challenging or otherwise interesting. IMO, Dota (despite being an A-RTS/MOBA) strikes the perfect mix and example of balancing gameplay and graphics.
