Postby SHOHANA » 18 Sep 2015, 11:52

I got informed that fb gonna add dislike and sympathy button, is there any extra benefit to add this button for fb? It sees they gonna make more money by adding new features , what is your opinion?

Yup, you got informed right they are gonna add a Frekin "DISLIKE" Button. in my opinion its wrong and it shouldn't happen at all, because of that many thing would get changed on facebook, like if you visit Facebook You would see new post from pages in each minute, but as soon as we get 'dislike' button peoples will start disliking content that isnt in thier favour (Like it isnt in favour of thier political leader, just an example) by that many pages will be dissapointed and may not post those posts which keept us online whole frekin day, so it isnt good.

I think dislike buttom will create negative sense rather than indicating sympathy but I don't care whatever they add.

I heard that they are incorporating this feature on trial basis and will observe how it is going for final decision. I think likes are no more genuine now as there are lot of companies that offer money to get more likes.

I don't use facebook, but aren't people allowed to express their opinion?

I can go ahead re-write the title of this thread: "What is the benefit of the like button"? Isn't it to express your positive feeling towards a photo, a image or a thought? I'm sure it isn't for providing help for kids in Africa or that one kid that has a problem with his leg.

Why shouldn't a negative feeling/different opinion be allowed as well?

Just remember one thing: just because the feature is available, it doesn't mean you have to use it.

If you put it in there, people will use it and expect other users to abuse this function. It can also be a way to bully someone don't you think? Some people on Facebook feel bad when their friends would not make a comment or hit the like button on their posts, what more if these people get a dislike?

We can record our dislikes too! What else can be the motive? But that apart, what action Facebook is going to take on those 'dislikes' is not clear.

I don't know if it is a benefit, but I wanted long ago a dislike button to dislike a lot of inappropriate comments and shares on my FB page.

This is the first time I'm hearing of this. Well, either way, it doesn't bother me that much, because it'll just be like real life; not everyone will agree with what we say all the time. The "dislike" button will serve that purpose of saying, look, i don't like what you'r saying and I disagree with you.

Nope, Mark Zuckerberg does not allow Dislike button but something do to with Sad Button or Empathy Button because he wants people to share their empathy and sympathy. It is a big awkward when the post is about losing a dog and you like that post, I mean literally, you like that? So he makes this more personal, he will be launching empathy button.

I think dislike won't benefit at all that why the owner don't place it. I saw it before but it was ceased if I am not mistaken. Grecy is correct there are emoticons to use to show feelings and others.

I think the sympathy button will be wonderful. There are many times when I've read a sad post and wanted to send a quick notification of support, but clicking "like" could be misunderstood. I've never wanted to click "like" on a death announcement, for example.

Yes I agree clicking like on a sad post will be misunderstood and inappropriate that is why there are emoticons to use to express feeling of empathy and others.

I am excited for the DISLIKE button. It is one way of showing my dislike to a nonsense post. Particularly those posting religious items, isn't it insulting to read - share if you love God? Grow up, people.

I wonder what Facebook is trying to do. They connect people and now they are trying people to fight? It will surely be misunderstood. I admit, I personally dislike most that I see in my news updates, but I don't want to hurt their feelings through the dislike button as it may give stigma to them.

I don't think dislike button will be good. This feature if launched will become a tool to spread hate messages. If we dislike a post, we can say it in the comment section or leave it unattended. By having dislike we will be voicing our dislike strongly and this will be detrimental for the community

I heard this was happening on Mylot yesterday. I have mixed feelings about it. It will be good to express sympathy if someone writes they are very sad about something but I think it might be abused as people could use it to disrespect others, although if they are on your friends list that shouldn't happen. At least you will find out who your friends really are I guess and can delete any that show they aren't.
