What problems have you heard of for Windows 10?

Postby Happyland » 06 Oct 2015, 06:37

Have you heard of any problems in windows 10? I am wondering what kind of issues the new operating system is causing. Hopefully there are not a lot of kinks in the system.

I've been using it for months and there hasn't really been any big problems. Everything runs smoothly and it's fast. Recently though, my desktop icons keep moving. It's annoying me and there doesn't seem to be a fix. Not sure if this is a specific Windows 10 problem or if it's a problem with all Windows computers.

I've heard of bugs for people that upgraded like the updates are no longer your choice that they are automatic. I also heard there was a problem with users of a certain video card

I had a problem while upgrading - 2 days ago. When it finished, the image was pinkish and flickering :?

I read it might happen because of the intel graphic card. In fact if I disabled it leaving only nvidia, it came back to normal.
My Intel tool/control panel told me that the drivers were up to date but apparently that wasn't true. With my brother's help, and by visiting the Intel website I came to realize it was way out of date. So by manually updating it, the problem got solved.

Now there was something new for me: the touchpad was inverted in some menus. When sliding down, I would go upwards in the opened window. But that one was a easy "fix".

People often complain about Windows 10 but don't always say why they don't like it. I would say that probably most of the problems are fixable if you are computer literate (which I'm not) and I am thinking about upgrading, but then again I don't mind Windows 7 .. it does everything I need.

I get the icons moving about with Windows 7 so I don't think it's a Windows 10 problem. I don't know how to fix it though.

No problem here with win10, for some weeks now. Manufacturers seem to be a little behind, found some issues with Nvidia driver and with AV and malware advising software.

None of my friends or relatives are using Windows 10 nor they have any idea of installing the same and they are happy with what operating system they are having now. so , i am yet to hear about its problems if any. After going through the reviews in this thread, i feel that it is giving some problems, minor though. Anyhow i am satisfied with Windows 8.1 which i am currently using and it is taking care of all my needs without any problems

I don't know about the post-installation problems, but I am facing a tough time while installing it. It's asking me to uninstall the programs that don't support windows 10! I find it ridiculous, because if the programs can't run on windows 10, they simply will not! What's the need to uninstall them just to install Windows 10?

I'm hearing that there are a lot of privacy issues, and I don't like that. I'm especially leery, because MS is frequently targeted and thus can have its share of security issues. I don't like that so many settings are on by default, so you have to go in and turn them off. I'm not surprised though. I'm also wondering how they plan to further monetize.

I do not have it yet, I been watching to see what others have to say about it, and not seeing all that much. I hear people say they do not like it, but never seeing them say why they do not like it. I hope I don't have issues with it.

It looks like the bug has been fixed by Windows. My icons are no longer moving around on their own. There was no way to fix it before, but now everything is fine.

It seems that all of the quirks that I had in Windows 10 were fixed by doing a clean installation. Upgrading a Windows 7 operating system seems to make the system kind of wonky. You must initially upgrade from the original operating system in order to activate your key. After that, you can do a clean installation without any problems. Worked great for me! :)
