Do you have a recycling program for you old devices?

Postby Happyland » 14 Oct 2015, 18:15

When replacing an old or broken device do you recycle the equipment? Do you have a recycling program where you are? It is good to keep our environment free of toxins than can harm our water, land and air.

I remember seeing some kiosk all over the metro that collects electronic devices. Some schools also have them. Everyone is much aware of their impact on the environment and putting up a system to handle wastes and recycling is necessary.

I don't recycle the old devices that are of no use anymore to me. I just keep them in the storage. Who knows if it would be valuable someday? So it's better to just keep those old diskettes, CD burners, printers and other unusable devices.

Yes I pass them on to my daughter! She never has to buy phones because I replace mine every couple of years and then give them to her. I do keep one old one just in case I have a problem with the latest one though.

I have some phones I didn't throw away, and just today I recovered one old small Nokia for work calls. Old equipment goes to family members who still can make any use of those. Broken stuff are just to dispose.

I will recycle old jeans into shopping bags , or hand bags and mobile covers, old CD and TV antenna into windchime , old sarees into bed covers, curtains for doors and windows , dress materials into pillow covers and fancy bags, but do not know how to recycle old cordless phone, mobile phones and printers which is lying unused

I usually ask friends first, do you want this? pass it on to someone I know first. There is a place that wants your used devices, they fix it up and sell it to other people. Sometimes, they just want it for scrap, they do not pay you for it.
