Reporting on Facebook

Postby iamshane487 » 15 Oct 2015, 07:56

My relative is in temper because someone on Facebook reported her posts. It's because, she keeps on flaunting anything she has, although the money on her bank account, she is flaunting that she's now richer than us. I just giggled when someone reported her. I'm not betraying, but it's not safer to post personal matters on Facebook especially the bank account. I don't know why she loves posting them. Maybe she's just boastful.
What's your opinion to this?

I actually don't think that's a reporting matter and I doubt Facebook will do anything about it. Obviously it's not really safe to post her financial matters online but it is up to her. If she was being unpleasant to others Facebok would probably take that seriously and delete her posts or maybe her account.

Some people just love to brag but it doesn't bother me. I do know a young girl who puts up sexy poses of herself all the time which irrititates me especially as it upsets her husband. I just deleted her from my facebook. If your relative's posts offend you maybe you should delete her so you won't have to see them.

I agree with sprite1950, if that's the reason for the report I doubt anything will happen. But it is always best to ignore or even avoid people who have an annoying behavious for us.

Oooh my i guess the person who reported her was tired of her floating. Most of the time it is not good to keep posting things about yourself. People ends up knowing so much about you and one might even use that info to con you or something. Maybe she should put a stop to the floating

You know I never heard of been reported for financials on fb, but a friend of mine reported someone for nudity, and fb told the person who reported them.. so they know she did it.

A lot of people put out too much information on fb including their home address if having a party, not very smart to do that.

I too have a friend that brags a lot and post too much of her life on fb, tells people when she will be gone, , most know her address, and no one will be in her home for 3 weeks. I say don't put that out there, someone might rob you while gone

Oh, I hate when people put everything on social networks. Why are they doing that? I just can't understand those people at all. It is ok to post some photo or two, but to go so personal, that is just crazy!

Reporting posts, pictures or pages to Facebook is useless unless they are breaking Facebook rules. I have reported several pages, videos and pictures that promote violence against animals, some Facebook deleted others they didn't do anything even if it was a picture of a bull being killed. Facebook is weird when it comes to report stuff, honestly I don't understand their policy.

That is a funny way to get reported on Facebook. Although I think it is silly to post financial matters in Facebook. I think she will not get into trouble with Facebook for posting those, but it should teach her a lesson that not everybody likes to see her brag about everything.

Hehe this is so funny, @iamshane487! I agree with other members who doubt Facebook will do anything about your aunt's posts. In as much as what she's doing is a little tacky, it's far from offensive or derogatory. She's putting all her business up for all to see and not hurting anyone, and many other people do it on Facebook LOL

The criminals nowadays are looking at your Instagram and Facebook accounts they check out life styles and if you are a possible victim you might be targeted. so Posting your New Posche or 30 room Mansion in your social media account may be a bad thing. Although cutting down on posting close up selfies is not bad either.

Facebook is one of the social media whose function is sharing. Sharing everything posted there either news, events, happenings, family gatherings, and whatever have you. And also it is a venue for picture sharing.

The owner of the FB account may have the option control his page in terms of sharing, in terms of receiving a comments, or in terms of limited membership. Meaning, FB could be set to public which is the default setting and to private.

Well, you're very sorry once you have posted a post exposing reality on what's going with your love life, friendship, education, family, career, among others.

I remember a friend of mine who describe Facebook as unreliable sources of information. Those who are in FB are generalized by him as fake, cheaters, extortionist, swindler. You will be terribly sorry if you fall to their dubious business ventures.

Flaunting too much personal information, especially financial information is not a wise thing to do. It attracts so much criminal elements to oneself. I hope she will desist. With that said I don't see how that is a matter to be reported. I think a matter should only be reported if it is detrimental or harmful to another person. Say for example, bullying and such the like.

Your relative is merely a representation of the personalities of those FB users who feel they have to provide detailed reports of all their possessions on FB.

Of course, such showy behavior is likely to arouse envy among other FB users.

Please tell her to tone it down; Its not to her advantage.

This can be dangerous! Although all the FB will do after a reporting is just a warning to the person but there are sharks everywhere ready to snap their jaws at such people! Tell her to be careful! A friend of mine just got scratched with 1.5 lacs INR with such a behaviour!
