Netflix in Portugal

Postby darkthorn » 27 Oct 2015, 22:06

Before Netflix was available in Portugal I was quite excited about it but now my opinion is much different. I subscribed the service (free month) just to discover that the movies and series library is quite small, the movies are quite old and the best series are not available, I am really disappointed with it. How is the service in your country? Do you have a huge movies a series library?

I have had Netflix for a few years and it's well worth the $7.95 in my opinion (at least in the US). I have Kodi for movies and series they don't have, but Netflix is so simple to use my wife only watches that instead of tons of free content with Kodi.

Since age is no longer creeping up on me, but rushing in like an NFL ball carrier on 4th down from the 1 yard line. it's very simple.

I wouldn't expect much during the trial month.
And yeah they did some dumb moves like selling the rights of two of their most successful series - "House of Cards" and "Orange is the New Black". The 1st one I read that has been airing in another channel. About the 2nd one, they had to negotiate to get it back.

Anyway, let's see how many portuguese people subscribe.
Funny fact: While in Portugal we have 1 month free, our spanish neighbours will enjoy a 6 month period.

Yes , Netflix is good, here, they have box, called Red Box you can get movies from, rent the, or I liked Blockbuster before they closed, they had good, movies, older ones, that are hard to find, but they closed up some time ago.

I wait for movies to come on Dvd, and usually watch them then on Demand on my cable, there are so many options here for movies, I just don't have the time to watch them.

I love Netflix because although I agree there are many old films there, I was never a big movie watcher when I was younger so there are plenty I still haven't seen. I also have a kiddies category which keeps my granddaughter amused on a rainy day.

I remember having a free month when I first joined many years ago but the cost has more or less remained the same. I can't remember even having one increase so I've always thought it was good value.

Japan just recently got Netflix. The selection is small too, but they are very good with updating it every week. There are new things (both foreign and local shows) popping up everytime I check. I think it's going to keep growing and soon we'll have a really good selection.

Maybe you should stick with Netflix for a little longer. I think it needs to start off small before it expands. If you give it some time, you might be in for a nice surprise.

Netflix is a good service. They have millions of members who are loyal. Netflix must be able to get access to content and be able to create its own content. Things take time so stick with it. Even the iphone 1 first came out its capabilities do not compare to the current version of the iphone or its future iterations.
