No Left over in the bottles

Postby ksridharprasad » 20 Nov 2015, 13:11

Hi Friends,

In our daily life we are using several products available in glass and plastic containers. We find every time some residue is left over in the container and we are throwing them in the dustbin without using the residual form like ketchup etc etc. The students of Massachusetts institute find a remedy for it by using the non stick coating called "Liquiglide" the bottles and containers with liquiglide coating allows zero waste behind in the bottles, so in near future we may not worry about the left behind in the bottles

This is really smart of them. I have also seen many people throwing the bottles with atleast some liquids or toothpaste tubes with some paste still in it, or dusting powder tin with some powder. even if it is an expensive product. But we can not go and ask each and everyone not to waste like that. So this liquiglide coating is a boon for such people

This is my first time hearing of this Liquiglide and it sounds like a good idea. I sometimes do rinse out ketchup, mustard and pickle or mayo jars. The containers with shampoo and stuff I do not though I just chuck them once they are to low.

I hope it is not too costly to adopt this new technology. I can see a very good potential for this product. I wonder though if most companies will add this to their bottles knowing that it will be an added cost

I've heard about this for years. There are videos that could have be nicely attached to the first post but here it goes:

Nice, it's the first time I hear about this invention, all that is for us to make life easier is welcome, even if only to end up with the remains off bottles ... Do you know if it works with toothpast?

interesting, I usually just wash them out, it is a habit, and then put them in the recycle bin. Some things I continue to use, like a jar for coins or just toss other things into it.

Wow this is a cool innovation! If it is available for so long, how come it is not yet in the market? Or is it?

First time I hear about this. This non-stick additive seems interesting but my question is how safe is Liquiglide to our health? Being a chemical additive that can be modified to various viscous liquids to help them flow easier Liquiglide will end up mixed with those liquids, as a consequence the chemicals involved in the production of Liquiglide will end up inside our bodies. How safe is that?
As far as I know there are 175 chemicals found in food packaging, those chemicals are defined by international classification bodies as “chemicals of concern”, because they had been linked to cancer, reduced fertility, genital malformations and hormone disruption. Which chemicals are involved in Liquiglide and how many studies have been done to check if they are dangerous or not?

That's a great concept.

Thumbs up to these Massachusetts institute students.

The world is increasingly depleting available resources, thus necessitating initiatives like this :)

That is a fantastic idea, but I wonder if liquiglide a chemical compound? If it is then a little left over in the bottle is fine with me, as anything that contained in a bottle is already no good, and now we add another thing in there?

I learn to put the bottle upside down from my parents to get whatever left in the bottle out that way, and it has worked for years.

Great minds often come up with such thoughtful things. It is incredibly useful when you have no spare product and you are in dire need of that one last drop! Kudos!
