how to beat hackers

Postby Kazemy » 10 Dec 2015, 13:53

Everyone wants their documents to be safe. It is in fact a worldwide concern today. So I'll give you tips...
Step one is to take a notebook, buy a fabulous pen and write it all down. Stop using computers for all these important secure information. Just write it all down and put it in a safe place. Carry it with you if you have to. If someone has to take it, they will have to fight for it at least.

Or buy a cheap computer without internet, that way no one can access it, only by turning it on but they have to find the file first which is harder to find than a page on a notebook

A much simpler solution (at least for me) is to use Linux on my computer and keep the information there. It is much more secure than Windows and most hackers don't understand it.

Carrying a notebook with all your information may not be as safe as you can think. If you loose it anyone can get your information. Hackers have always ways of getting information, you don't need to store it on your pc because if a hacker installs a keylogger on your PC, everytime you type you information to access a website he will save it on a file.

Oldbuddy is right when he said Linux is safer but the idea that hackers don't understand the system is wrong. Most hackers use precisely Linux to hack and not windows. Why?

- Linux is open-source, so you can take full advantage and even make it more powerful, plus it is highly configurable.
- Linux is much more secure and reliable
- Linux was designed around a strong and highly integrated command line interface. This grants users far greater access and control over their system
- Linux is lighter and more portable.

These are only a few reasons why hackers prefer Linux. With the right tools a hacker can always break your security defenses, that is why they are hackers.

Actually when we talk about hackers. They are good if not best programmers for that matter. Hacking is accessing computer legally. This is what the programmers are doing. It is misnomer to address them hackers whose job is to get into the programming structure.

However, as technology grows and progresses, the impression to the hackers becomes bad. Why? Those hackers become too ambitious to earn more money in the dirty way. Or shall we say by cheating, by restructuring the code to become inaccessible and they introduce program to remedy them. In short, they create the so-called computer virus.

Is it possible to beat a hacker. They have hacked into the most sophisticated systems out there. Blackberry has one of the most secure platforms available. You don't hear of Blackberry platforms getting hacked. Blackberry is still around and they are much more than just a smart phone company. They provided services that can provide enterprise security and device management services for even the most private and sensitive data. Think about it.

I do agree don't store your important information via the internet.Hackers have away of getting to it plus if you find a mail requesting you to open from unconfirmed source.don't open it.Your PC will be acting as a transmitter when you will be online and the hacker will copy your details.Nowadays hackers are making money by selling peoples ideas, information and so forth.if you have a good idea don't share via email will be hacked and the info will be sold for millions of dollars.Be safe store information in a private PC just like one has posted plus away from the internet. Can also save on DVD.

Linux is free from Malware and virus. So it is better to install it and be tension free . This is what i think. Sometimes anti virus or malwarebytes also does not work properly and somehow malware or virus enters our pc and trouble us

Not only that, but all the protection software you need to run in the background slows your computer down. I have used Linux (PCLinuxOS) for years and no more problems.

I don't think any one is safe from a hacker, I wouldn't carry a notebook or store everything in a cell phone either.
You just need to be careful, how I don't really have that answer, there are more and more hackers every day.

When I had my medical files hacked at my doctors office, I knew back then, nothing is really safe.

There is no guarantee that your files will be hacker free. People can try to make use of top-notch firewall and network security but the threat is still there. Sure, a notebook might sound like a nice idea, but there is always the possibility of theft/getting it lost. I remembered there was a movie script (forgot what it was) where it was posted online because somebody left it in a pub/bar. So just like in anything, we can try of ways to protect our data, but unexpected things might happen.

As oldbuddy said , Linux is the best one . If we have one , no Malware or Virus will attack our pc. Tonight my son is coming home. So i will ask him to install Linux in my desktop so that my pc will be Malware and virus free and also it boots fast. Now it takes atleast 10 minutes to open and also frequently it hangs that too whenever i try to log in , in Skype

That'll be a tall order because I've literary thousands of passwords.

What if my notebook is lost?

Yours is a good idea but it has serious limitations.

Thousands of passwords are no challenge for LastPass and they are in the cloud, so all you need to remember is one password to access them from any Internet Connection.

i do not keep any important info like bank details in the pc. I will note it down in my diary . User ID and PW of the sites in which i am a member will be stored in a file and kept in a folder but that too the hacker can not understand because it will be in a coded version which no one can understand except me.

How safe is LastPass. It being an online thing is also prone to hacking I believe. How about keeping all passwords locked in a portable hard/pen drive?

I have used LastPass for years and never heard of a problem. All I keep in there are logons for various websites (like Forum Coin) and not banking or other sensitive details, so there is no huge risk. It does make loging on much faster.
