Revenue Target - do you set a goal?

Postby thisnthat » 19 Aug 2016, 18:03

It's kind of tricky to measure earnings day by day, but do you set a daily goal anyway? What about a weekly or monthly goal? Do you try to reach at least a certain amount each month?

Tell us about your goals and your motivation for reaching them, please.

No, I personally don't. I know some people do and I say kudos to them. For me it would be putting myself under unnecessary pressure, given the fact that online work is so up and down. Your outcomes are really dictated by how much work is available from week to week, which is very unpredictable. Plus, with having to fit my online work around my offline activities (my business and job), I'd have a real job trying to meet any targets I set :(

I always try to set a goal as it serves a motivation to me. It doesn't put extra pressure to me as online earning is not my main focus.

My goal I set this month was:
1. 10 daily posts in FC (so it takes 1 - 1.5 months for $5)
2. $5 per month in mylot (it's about 17 cents per month)
3. $5 per month in LB

I also work on PTC sites and surveys as much as I can. I am hoping to make $5 from EasyHits4u and $10 from ClixSense monthly, but I can't really set them as goals as it depends on the number of ads the sites serve.

I am setting $30 a month from online earnings. I use my online earnings to buy books or homeschooling resources from overseas online. This is my motivation. I am happy if I can make it, it's also fine if I can;t, as my main focus is elsewhere.

Besides working well in FC, I didn't spend much time in mylot & LB, so I didn't manage to make $5 there.

I don't have a strict target that I must meet, but if I have an approximate number in mind, it tends to help motivate me. Most of the time I'm pretty motivated, but I do have "those days." When I feel a bit burned out, I'll tell myself, "only so much more to go" or whatever to keep me moving in the right direction. It doesn't always work, since sometimes things are beyond my control.

I'm on the same page with Angie10. I don't set personal goals. I follow my heart and do what I feel inspired to do. If I feel my neighbor needs my help I can put my computer activities on hold.

My priority is to follow my heart.

One exception is my earning opportunity on Swagbucks. The owner of Swagbucks knows how to motivate us to earn by offering a bonus, here and there. Sometimes I strive to reach the goals they set for me.

Postby morgoodie » 23 Aug 2016, 23:22

I have a goal in mind when I work online because right now it is my only source of income other than child support. I would like to be able to earn at least $400 a month online between all the sites that I work on and selling on eBay. However, I have a hard time earning $300 a month right now. I wish that I could make more but my skill set is limited and writing on LB just seemed like too much time and energy invested vs the payout. I try to switch things up and see if that helps so right now it is somewhat a trial and error kind of thing. I am hoping that eventually I will figure out a system that will make me more money.

I used to set a goal for myself but realized it is something that I can't do at the moment. My son and full-time work are my top priorities and eats most of my time - so I had to be realistic with what I can do, time I have etc. It came to me when writing brought me a lot of stress especially when multiple deadlines are approaching plus my full-time work also happens to be busy, add up to my son demanding attention. I didn't want to hate writing as it "SHOULD" be something that I want to continuously like (sort of a mental break from my job) so I changed my tactic with freelancing instead. So far, it seems to work and I am happier. And for some reason, I am also earning better. Probably it is just perfect timing that I sort of built my reputation in Upwork already so it gave me a bit of freedom, too :)

I try to get in the maximum amount at all times. That includes the 10 post limit here at this forum. I feel like a whole person when I set a revenue target. This way it looks like I put in maximum effort which has much going for it. Hopefully the earnings will show some effort as well to get me through to payout.

I do set a goal. I try to reach 20$ on one local article site. 5$ on mylot. 10 posts on FC. And also trying other sites to raise more revenue. I wish to do more for myself but it seems things are going very slow lately.

Yes, I agree that with young children around, it doesn't seem easy to spend time as we wish.
Hope you will continue to get good jobs in Upwork. I really think it's a good opportunity to earn in those freelancing sites.

An interesting question, I personally don't set any target as I have full time job. How much can we earn here, by the way?
I am newbie here, based a simple calculation, 10 FC x 100 days = 1000FC = $5, right? So, 3 months needed to achieve the minimum payout rate?
Am I right?

Welcome to ForumCoin.
Nope, you can earn 10-15FC per day if you make 10 posts a day and 500FC = $5. So it takes around 1 - 1.5 month to reach the minimum payout. ;)

Thanks kaka :) I really hope everybody here find a certain site to earn decently from. So far, it's Upwork for me. :) And I am hoping my blog will give me a sort of revenue to so I can continue paying for the fees.

Personally I don't set goals for online sites because I find it more demotivating and also it 'wastes' my time. I would rather write an article than spend 2 hours trying to find a survey or do as many tasks to achieve a daily goal. Some days are good with a well paid survey or study, and other days there is nothing. I take what I can when I am in the mood to do it.

That's me though, and I try to write an article each day instead as that to me is more important while I edit and write chapters.

My goal is to earn more than $400 and I never earned that amount, in my entire existence online, but I know one day I will able too. I motivate myself by looking at the list of my debt and playing Christmas song, to remind me I need to work smart.

Where are you writing an article each day? Are you selling articles or doing rev share sites?

I hate surveys. Most of them are just scams anyway.
