pm permissions are delayed for new members until you have actually submitted your first 20 posts. Once you have submitted your 20th post, the pm system will automatically open for you. This delay procedure is part of the site security system.


As for contacting fergal, he does include his email contact information in the site information pages so he won't be bombarded with repeated questions and spam. It is there so those seeking answers actually look and read first to find the answers they seek. Try looking on the FAQ pages. It is there, but you really have to look.

You really should read the FAQ page before you begin. This sort of makes you do it.
