You know what, I have nothing against AI, but I have something against AI abuse.

Postby Netherrealmer » 17 Oct 2025, 11:51

Right now, I think one of the reasons why we don't have Oldbuddy anymore is he's upset that we have a pollution and pandemic of AI users who doesn't give effort to sound human. I can understand if you will use AI to fix your grammar, so you won't correct your spelling or giving yourself more personality. But lately, I've been seeing a lot of AI replies with no heart, and probably they didn't read the article or the thread. You know, they just make these lifeless replies that does not make sense. I think, is it even their statement? You know what? I have nothing against AI. You can use AI to improve your English, or for example, English is not your first language. You want to reply in English, you can try to say something in your language and have AI translate it in English. That will be a good use of AI. But recently, there are people who will just use AI with no effort, no prompts, no inputs, so it's not their opinion. It's just a random gibberish AI made. And they don't sound human, they sound like a fluent professor, but somehow, their statement does not make sense. Also, there are people who will just praise you, suck up to you with their AI reply instead of giving you an actual reply. Or they will try to make a negative reply, but it's also AI. Like, seriously, just use your own opinion. Use AI to improve your work, but not use AI to do everything for you. Because you don't sound human, I'm not going to call out people. I DM some people to please, you know, if you don't want to stop using AI, try to sound human at least. Because I'm so tired of these robotic professors.

If anyone wants AI to write for them that will be the end of their writing capability and it will also affect their thinking capability

Asking AI for information is fine but that must be compared with other sources as well

Problem is, a lot of people are not following that rule, and they're openly doing it. So, sometimes, I'm just telling them, if they will use AI, at least use their own thought, use their own idea, use their own opinion. For example, if English is not their first language, just use AI to translate their statement into English. But do not make AI do the work for them. Like, do not make the AI make an opinion for them, which is a lot of people have been doing. They didn't even bother reading the thread. So, I instantly captured that they're not using their own opinion because their posts felt out of context.

Forums have their own natural enemies, scams, spam, etc...
Imagine now those enemies with super power tools like AI???

Forums are not getting easier... They are going to worsen...

Solution? I have the road map, and a couple of steps accomplished.. the road is long.. union is key... But I don't want to sound repetitive...

You can do anything you set your mind too but it comes with a lot but if your consistent and dedicated you might just achieve what your aiming for.

AI bots can be used for the greater good of this planet if used in the right way with right input but most will use it for stuff to better them self, which most likely anyone would do if they know they can do it with high rewards.

I have a tendency to write long, but now I'm trying to write shorter because I don't want to be mistaken as AI. Which frustrates me because I'm such a talker. But because of the AI users, I have to tone down myself because there are people who will use AI and end up making this 1000-word essay.

The AI abusers need to take this seriously because I'm so close to public shaming them. I noticed some of the... there is a new gimmick of the AI abusers. Now they are paraphrasing the thread starter in hopes to turn it into a reply. That's not how things work. Paraphrasing the topic to turn it into a reply is such a lazy, cheap, move, and it doesn't add and help the forum. This is one of the reasons why I stopped doing my paying task.

Use of AI in a judicious way is not bad. But yes, doing things without sense and logic is not fine.
At least one should not use AI in replies, except may be for language translation.
I am against total AI use ban but yes, I know some folks use AI in replies too much.
Some of their responses seem to kind of duplicate the crux of what has been written.
So judicious use is our responsibility.

I just caught someone using AI to paraphrase someone else's reply into their own reply but it's obviously a copy of my reply word-by-word but, you know, just changed by AI. It's really insulting to everyone's intelligence.

I stopped doing paid tasks because I don't want to pay for AI. It's really sad because, you know, I love giving opportunities to people, but with the current state we have now, I think I'll just keep the forum coins earnings to myself. It's hard to share if, you know, you don't get what you paid for.

Wow, really? That's taking it to an altogether different level of laziness. I mean, that person could at least have written their own and then asked AI to improve it. Report them and get rid of them. We don't need that here.

What you say is against logic. Spend hours to learn grammar and correct it will take a very long time.
You focus on redaction and AI model correct grammar mistake.
In theory this is feasible but not in nowadays where every second counts.
Reword and generate could be forbidden not grammar mistake correct.

Even if you write long, there is still going to be some difference between you and those AI contents.
