It makes sense, reputation does not equal quality. It does not help the site in anyway. It does not bring in more revenue that can be shared. It could be just another game.
I haven't been here long enough, but I am expressing my views from what i have seen .

Users up vote a post if they find it good or useful for them. That not ensures that it is a quality post. I have seen many quality posts getting a miss and not getting any reputation point. If this reward is introduced, people might end up scamming. It might turn into a program like you scratch my back, I will scratch yours. You like my posts, I will like yours. This does not help with quality of posts.
