I've noticed a couple of people with this tag on their account, and I was wondering how they come to get struck out?

The simple answer is that they have violated site rules in some way.

In most cases, they have spammed the site. Some have placed ads in categories where ads are not permitted. Some have plastered the site with extremely low quality content. Some have opened more than one account from the same IP address. Those are just a few examples. Cyberfreak is very good at catching spammers right as they join and most are banned right then. At last count for any reason, there have been 653 of them.

The best way to avoid being banned is to read and follow the rules on the FAQ page and the linked site guidelines.

I guess every forum site has its rules and to be on a safer side,its better to go through those rules with a fine toothed comb before continuing on the site..ignorance is no excuse .if you violate the rules, you must be prepared to face the consequences which in most cases is banning

How do people get banned? They break the rules.

This is a very nice forum and the owners and moderators are very reasonable. They don't just ban you. They warn you. They give you ample opportunity to repent! But if you don't mend your ways ... you're outta here!

Mostly fake accounts. There are some folks who make fake accounts and reply to their own threads and replies. And with same IP and the pattern, they can get caught. That is what happened with some of them that I have noticed.

They have been banned for they have violated the rules here. Try to read or reread the rules here to familiarize them so that you may have the idea.

Also people who make no sense one liner post. You don't need to make essays, a 1 line sentence can be good if it makes sense with the discussion. So read before you reply.

I guess a few didn't read the rules and lacked some common sense.
Some weren't honest enough. It happens, I hope they learned the lesson.

Yes, as a matter of fact, there have been several members who have been banned because they opened a second account. It is a clear violation of the written site rules. In some cases, only the duplicate account is banned, but there have been some where both accounts get banned. It is an administrative decision.

It is easy to spot because the site administration can view the ip address for every entry. That is why you are not allowed to share the same computer, phone or any other access equipment with others, even in your own home.

By the way, the count is already up to 657 at this moment, and at least 2 of those recent additions are for this specific reason.

When I check the member list, I find many been banned. It is very important to read the rules and guidelines before being active here. And maintaining the quality of the forum is really important. I think people get a warning for their low quality post before they get banned. I am not sure if they can be banned without a prior warning.

I think people get banned when they just troll and spam to much on the site . Or they just post without reading the topic just to earn more.

I just noticed that some of the regular contributors on this forum have been banned. They have been here for long . they know the rules and I am left wondering why they have been banned, doesn't make sense to me. I do know that there must be a valid reason for admin to do that.

I just noticed that Chameli was banned as well which was a huge shock.

Are the staff allowed to discuss why particular members were banned? It's a shame that she won't be here at FC anymore.

Even I was taken a back when I saw this user got banned! I always thought that she provided valid answers and made good comments in most forum threads. I am sure there was something wrong which is visible to admins only. I am also curious to know the reason though!

This is my conspiracy theory only. When 2 people are banned at the same time. There is a high chance they are the same person. Some people either try to make multiple accounts with VPN or cellphones with a different sim.
