Can you post free ads to earn added revenue from ForumCoin?

Postby OldGuy » 11 Jul 2019, 03:23

ForumCoin is not exempt from issues that affect all forums. Members come and go as other interests take their attention. We need a constant supply of new members to keep this forum alive and active.

Please help by sharing free ads inviting new members to join our forum. A valid promotion should never mention that you need them to reach 20 posts and should never mention playing games. Long term interested members are not coming for the revenue. They come because they are truly interested in the content. There is no need to even mention the earnings. A valid promotion offers just enough to pique interest. Let them discover the rest from their own experience. We need real members not just numbers to fill in referral credits.

It does not need to be hard work. Most members find it very difficult to ask friends who are just not interested in the same things that interest you. Instead, find places you can post free ads, but Do Not Spam. A successful ad can become an automatic program for you, earning 25 FC extra for every completed referral (once they have contributed 20 posts) that comes from your ad.

Copy and post one or all of these, or use your own variation.

I will try my best to bring in some new members, Unfortunately, all my friends and close relatives are not at all interested in the concept of 'online earning', that too when they learn that almost all revenue share sites pay peanuts for the time and effort spent. That's the problem.

Yes I too faced the same problem. I did post a few times on Twitter and Facebook, but it does not works.
May be I can give a try one more time.

The problem I see over and over is the EXCUSE that says:
I've asked my friends and relatives but they are not interested.

That is the reason I keep saying read the Original Post.

It is extremely rare for friends and relatives to all share the same interests. Everyone runs into the same issues with friends and relatives who are not interested in joining the same groups or activities you enjoy.

I am not asking you to promote this site to your friends and family. Most are not interested. Yes, it is the harsh reality. So why keep beating your head against a wall? Don't even bother to ask your friends and family. That is the biggest reason people keep saying they don't like to seek referrals. It creates hard feelings with those you actually know who get tired of hearing of yet another site that excites you, but NOT THEM.

What I am proposing here is to place ads where other people you do not even know but who share your interests are likely to spot the ads. The ads don't say much at all beyond just enough to turn the heads of those who are actually interested in that specific kind of content. You won't even know who most of your referrals are, but they are new members who come for the content you promote.

So, again, I ask you to please actually read the original post. All the EXCUSES float out the window if you just pay attention.

The answer to this question can be determined for any site.
1. Do they allow free ads?
2. Do they allow referral links in their ads?
3. Is the topic of the ad related to the topics of the site?

If all three answers are yes, then yes, it should be fine. Don't try to force ads where they might be considered spam, but any place online where all three answers are yes should be fine.

Just to add some ideas of where to post ads, I went to look at what is available.
I posted all three ads on one of these sites just to see how easy it was.
It only took a few minutes and all three ads were already online by the time I was done.

Here is a site that lists some top possibilities. Check it out and post your ads:

The “suggested list” was from a quick search of available advertising sites. It was more as a suggestion rather than a complete list of the kinds of sites I was talking about for posting free ads.

The bottom line is that as of December 2018, we were averaging 170 to 180 members who had posted content during the most recent 60 day period. By January 2019, it had dropped to around the 150 count for that same time period. As it is right this moment, we are down all the way to 119 who have posted any content in the latest 60 day period.

The volume of daily posts is dropping at similar rates. 536 posts per day was average during 2018. It is all the way down to just 317 per day for the latest 4 month period and only 295 per day for the latest week.

I tried a contest to see if we could entice new members by referral. Problem was, most who gave it any effort only asked friends and acquaintances to post just enough content to give them a referral credit with almost no consideration of finding members who just might be interested in staying active. 12 new members joined as a result of that contest that provided at least 2 or more posts and did not get banned. 4 of those went beyond the minimum posts to get a referral credit. Only 1 out of that entire group has remained sporadically active.

It was a contest that cost me quite a bit, but did nothing to help the site. Very disappointing to say the least. 10 more new members joined the month after the contest, so it obviously did not help at all. I certainly have no intention of offering such a contest again in the future.

We need new members to replenish the list of those who have moved on to other interests. We don't need members to fill an arbitrary quota to get a referral credit, we need members who will remain active beyond that minimum volume of posts.

We are down to a core group of less than 100 members who are regularly posting well above 75% of all content. New members join, but few remain long enough to count.

Those who care about this site and want it to remain active need to help find new members; not just to fill the quota for a referral credit, but to remain as new, interested and active members.

Posting ads as often as possible will attract people you do not yet know but share your interests. Just asking friends who are not really interested is not making the grade. Success will come from promotions in other formats that explain the benefits of participation rather than filling a referral credit.

The hard part is finding places to post such ads that can be effective. Once past that hurdle, getting referrals requires no added effort. They come in reply to an effective ad, not any begging to your friends to fill a quota. That was actually the point of this topic.

It is up to those who like this site. Help bring in new members to keep this site active or we will all be saying goodbye. At the rate it is going, time is of the essence.

There is nothing wrong with encouraging new referrals to make posts for whatever reason, it's the way they are going to find out if it works for them. If they post long enough, they will either figure out how to make it work or drop out, no loss if they do.

The real problem is long time members that post only to earn the penny, which is way too common. If you ran your analysis based only on content that had value, my bet is it would be even more dismal.

@oldbuddy - When a friend encouraged me to sign up, I made sure to do the required number of posts so she could get credit. The funny thing is, I'm active. But now she isn't. I noticed that I have referrals. I shared my link in different places. But I don't know where my referrals came from and I'm not sure if they are still active. I just wish everybody knew that this is one of the best forums on the Internet. Most forums are specialized and you have to know a specific are like gaming videos or electronics. But this forum is generalized enough for anybody to join. I've tried other forums and I feel like a fish out of water. At Forum Coin, I feel very comfortable.
