The reputation score is an easy calculation. You simply divide your reputation points by your total number of posts and read the results as a percentage: 1163 points divided by 7259 posts = 16.02%
Only 72 members have earned such a high score for the life of ForumCoin.
There are 501 members with similar high scores, but they are only "flukes". New members joined in, received a few early points for such things as a new member intro or adding their location or including an avatar, etc. but then left the site with less than a dozen posts.
The rep score calculation is not valid until the member has contributed at least 100 posts but these scores are included in the overall averages to counter balance the 177 members with negative scores and the 766 with zero rep scores. The fact there are so many with negative and zero rep scores indicates members have not been banned based solely on reputation scores.
The Reputation Scores have always been more of a guide than anything else. If your score is below the site average, it is a message from the community that you need to do better. If your score is above 10%, it is an indication you are doing just fine, but there is always room for improvement.
Positive Rep Points and your resulting Reputation scores have no cash value beyond these special offers. See Also:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=37383 They do not affect your earnings from ForumCoin except a minimum 1 FC penalty for a negative rep point.
Even though positive reputation points seem to be given at random by other members, those who consistently contribute higher quality content tend to receive more positive rep points than those who just drop in junk posts all the time. It has been fairly consistent that one out of ten high quality posts actually receive the points when deserved and there have been times a junk post seems to receive a point from time to time, but they do average out to a fairly accurate rating system.
The calculated average is based on scores for all contributing members for the life of the site, included as low as a negative 200% to an all time [FLUKE} high of a 233.33% positive score and a minimum of 2 posts and the current maximum of 39,400 posts and have not been banned. As of this moment: 7.9387% with recently added positive rep points. The Highest EARNED reputation score is currently 62.35%.
