I noticed this thread was old because the author was called Fergus at some point.
I suppose it's still relevant. It isn't always new members that flood with short worthless replies, unfortunately.
I wonder, if as a community, we can do something about this. For instance, I should get into the habit of giving the thumb up to good replies more often. While many are probably just interested in the coins, I know some really like receiving reputation points.
Thumbs down also exist, if those who receive them weren't eager to start a war, I'd use them too.
