Fate Of This Site - On The Verge of Closure!

Postby A K Rao » 01 Dec 2019, 20:16

I am sure all of us know that thus site is about to get closure as the Admin and the Moderator is hardly interested in the happenings on the site!

There are many things on the sight which may help in closing the site...could you kindly enumerate one reason ?

You are just panicking for the announcement of delayed payments. That is transparency to show they are trustworthy

Which site are you talking about? Do you mean ForumCoin? Old Guy, Fergal and Cyberfreak have been active on the site recently.

I hope you don't mean this site. This is the only site I visited for now and I will be lost in the online world if this will be gone. Not for the earning but for a place to hang out whenever I felt I need to.

I don't know why you have felt the need to post this other than your objection to what another user is posting but that does NOT constitute us closing or us not caring about this site.

If you have a problem with another user, go about it the right way and contact us or report the posts. Ultimately a user might get away with a trick for a little while but it does not mean that it will be allowed or the user will get paid for those posts. It just means that sometimes we need to determine if they are worthwhile to the site or not, the extent and how best to go about stopping them if we feel it is necessary. There is a big problem where if we do nothing we get accused of doing nothing and if we react, we get accused of being too heavy handed/strict and the user(s) in question, potentially their friends or the wider FC community as a whole have a problem with our action. It is not unique to this site either. We just have to be careful that if we clamp down, we are right to do so. Sometimes that involves discussions or waiting for Fergal (who has valid reasons for not being too active but still ensures that payments are made in a timely manner as a top priority) to make a decision.

We are still here, we are still working on the site, we are still paying users with the latest payment proof of $20 being sent on the 29th of November since the delay caused by technical issues that me and Fergal had to deal with. As Fergal said in the update, he could access the site again and payments are being made again. These thing happen. All sites including Facebook, Twitter and Youtube go offline from time to time and suffer issues. Yes they are bigger sites but they also have teams of people watching 24/7 and they are backed with a little more financial investment than we have. We had an issue, we dealt with it and updated the users like we usually do to explain issues, say sorry and calm the nerves users may have regarding payments. As usual payments have started to be made again following the delay. Payment delays are occasional things that happen but we always catchup and users get paid.

We have spent hundreds of hours (if not more) on this site over the years from back in 2012 when we were discussing the ideas behind the site to 2013 when we worked on putting it into motion and launching the site and all the years since posting, promoting the site, helping users, handling payments, improving the site, catching cheaters, keeping the site online and dealing with server moves, DDoS attacks and the amount of money invested in the site... It is stupid to believe that after all this it is right to make the public assumption that because there is a user posting content you don't agree with that we are on the verge of closure. Not immediately acting on (or even ever acting on) your displeasure against another user does not constitute closure.

I get you are not happy but go about it the right way. Topics like this is NOT the right way. Instilling fear in users and especially damaging our reputation will not get you what you want. All I have seen from you recently is public displeasure against other users but not once done anything (I have seen or heard) the correct way (privately) about it. In my opinion posts like this are worse and more disruptive that the posts you are complaining about.

I can assure you, if we ever are on the verge of closure, you will hear it from us first. I would hope we have earned our users trust by now to believe us when we say that.

In the interest of transparency, I have made this topic public again but please refrain from this type of scaremongering in future otherwise it will be removed at the very least.
