Adding affiliate links to help support ForumCoin, opinions please?

Postby Fergal » 21 Oct 2023, 07:47

As you know we only allow members to include affiliate links in their forum signatures and in our advertising forum sections. Something I have been considering recently, to help generate some revenue for ForumCoin, is adding affiliate links manually to popular topics in the forum.

For example, if there is a forum topic discussing Amazon, I could edit links in that topic to include an affiliate link that could potentially generate some revenue to support the costs of running ForumCoin.

Please reply with your opinion on this. Would you be happy and comfortable to see this being done or do you think it would take away from the community in some way?

If you feel it would be harmful to do this, please do let us know. I would much prefer hear member concerns now, than create some bad feeling by implementing this change.

Many thanks.

Personally, I welcome this idea. Since the affiliate links will be decided on factors like the popularity of the Post, there is no harm in adding such links since at the end of the day, its for the benefit of us members. Affiliate links are only bad if they are scattered everywhere including where they shouldn't be. Since ours will be moderated and inserted by the Admin basing on certain conditions, I vote a YES. Besides, they aren't members links, they are site links, so its a good idea.

This is this topic by Admin about increasing money on Forumcoin. How about if we all gave out of ideas so Admin can see what to do? I personally believe this can work if implemented. Just in case you missed here is the link viewtopic.php?f=6&t=36898

This is actually not a bad idea though and to be honest we won't know the results until we actually give it a try.

What other ventures aside from affilliate links can the forum earn from,There are a lot of indicators that are showing that most of the money goes out of the forum as oppossed with how much is generated.

I think forum revenue has declined because a lot of people just care about posting threads and coments.the solution would be to go on a campaign spree to attract quality start up entreprenuers who can use these valuable resources on forums to upscale their ventures. The goal should be to attract quality start up entrepreneurs. It is the only way forum revenue will increase.

Have we tried to hire an expert on how to increase revenue in the forum and what is the expert saying?

Do you have a way forward for this? I mean, if you have an option to let the start ups know about this Forum.

Every business model revolves around three major factors to consider, that is product or service, sales and marketing and administration and finance.Whenever a business has relapses it means the team needs to look into all these three and or either of these. So it is very essential that we establish what is causing the decline in the revenue base.

I must say that upto now i am yet to establish the basic requirements which makes a quality forum worker,i also get so amazed why forum bussiness is taken so shallow or belittled. Many people say they prefer to work on forums unlike ptc sites and faucets,But look at the business models for sites like cointiply, timebucks and freecash. These guys are so deliberate and you cannot compare their stable sites to forums. It is high time we take the forum business to semi to professional level. And the idea is to mirror the concept like an online magazine or social platforms like facebook,Intsagram and twitter. That starts with having an organizational structure so that there is deliberation of duties. That creates a business to be bankable and have a potential to attract investors.

Only then will it be easy to explain to some entreprenuers because you have build something that is organized and credible.

I am okay with the idea. Anything that would help the forum generate some revenue would be good. It would help it to be sustained. We have to give it a try and see how it works.

I am in support of anything that would help this community survive and sustain. I have been here for few years and I feel a personal connection and bond with this place. I would like it to generate more and more revenues for it to sustain in long run. We can try this and hopefully, it will bring some results in our favour.
