How profitable is forumcoin?

ForumCoin costs more to run than it makes from ad revenue. However, the costs aren't huge and I really enjoy the time I spend here. Hopefully ad revenue will outgrow costs as we continue to grow and become more popular.

Sorry to hear about that. Maybe you should include a bit more ads (one tiny banner at the bottom of the page probably isn't earning much) However I'm not suggesting any crazy pop-up ads. Or transition ForumCoin into a more micro-transaction type website where you can buy FC to buy online services and use the "earn money for posting" as an addition, not the main content on the site.

Thanks for your kind words and question haripriyavkl. I actually have very little experience in blogging. However, we do have members who have excellent blogs and have a good knowledge in that area. My suggestion would be to post any questions you have in our Webmaster section and our members, including me, will do our best to help you there.

One piece of advice I would give is to blog about what you enjoy and what interests you. If you don't enjoy the topic, you will find it difficult to maintain and grow your blog in the long term.

I've sort of answered that in response to a previous question.

I am focusing more and more on ForumCoin. In the past one of my problems has been that I spread myself too thinly and didn't focus enough. I still do that to some extent but am getting better at focusing on doing a small number of things to completion. As a result ForumCoin is the only site I am doing any work on or spending any time on and that's the way it will be for some time.

Do you want to run a blogging site that shares revenue too?

I have seen one or two blogs that do that and I do think the idea has a lot of potential. Maybe it is something I will consider at some time in the future, but for the moment all my focus and attention is on ForumCoin.

Thanks for the great question Sam. I see ForumCoin as being a much larger community then and also accepted much more broadly as a digital currency. I'd like to see ForumCoin grow to approach where Bitcoin is today. That way members can use the community to earn ForumCoin and to easily launch small businesses, selling their products and services in exchange for ForumCoin.

Sounds like an excellent idea suny and not something we had considered before so thanks for that. Something we have been considering is awarding more ForumCoin per post to members with higher reputation, not something that is going to happen today or tomorrow but we do plan to introduce it in the future.
