When it comes to our health, often doing our own research is very good.
My story?
When I was younger, especially as a teenager, I always watched my calories. Nothing else. My weight was always perfect. I was healthy. I never needed a doctor. I did follow the Slim Fast plan. However, I always had my loved ones’ homemade cooking and watched portions. I weighed 94 pounds. Every week, I weighed myself at the GNC and was told that I was healthy.
I had extracurricular activities too!
When in university, I was a dormer and had to buy a meal plan. What was awesome, was that the university had an Italian food court that I could use my cafeteria plan at! Yes, I got a meal there every day. The lady there was so nice! I always told her how good her pasta was! But as you probably might guess. I gained weight.
When out on my own, my loved ones never taught myself how to cook.
I had to buy boxes of pasta. I bought garlic bread. But I did exercise.
Then…
I eventually bought Red Baron pizza constantly. My weight skyrocketed! I went up to 200 pounds.
I had to teach myself how to cook.. I borrowed cookbooks from the library and bought cookbooks from yard sales.
I ended up cooking for 2 roommates and myself! I lost 40 pounds.
Right now, my weight fluctuates between 154 pounds to 159 pounds. My ideal weight would be 150 pounds. I know that 150 pounds is not that good, but much better than 200! Right?
I have a personal drink called “diet Arnold Palmer (homemade)” that has only 19 calories and keeps one regular. Occasionally, I treat myself to sweet tea! My dentist is so funny. With all of the upper teeth being pulled, he told me that I can have all of the iced tea that I want! He made myself feel good too when he said “You did good”!

I did have a question that I asked my dentist’s assistant. I found online that when you have a tooth pulled, you should not have milk for a week. I asked the assistant and she said that she had never heard about not having milk.
About a year ago, my family physician said that I did not have enough salt in my diet. I researched online and found that I had too much salt! So, I began using a condiment called “no salt” which tasted nasty. I now use “sea salt” and much happier. He has been giving my health praise. He took myself off of one medicine and going to either take myself off completely of another, to maybe half of another.
Thank you for reading my story!
