My Grammarly Journey: From Scribbles to Polished Writing

Before I started using Grammarly, my writing was often a mess. I'd quickly write down my ideas, then face the hard part of fixing all the mistakes. I had to deal with typos, grammar problems, and awkward phrases. Then I discovered Grammarly, and my writing life changed.

When I first used Grammarly, I was careful. I'd heard it was good at finding mistakes I usually missed. Signing up was easy, and the Chrome extension was great. Suddenly, when I typed online, a little Grammarly icon appeared. It kept an eye on my words.

I started slowly. I'd write a paragraph, then click the Grammarly icon. A number showed up, telling me how many changes I should make. I'd feel a little nervous, hoping the number was small. When I clicked the icon, a sidebar opened, showing me the problems.

Grammarly is helpful because it’s so clear. Every suggestion came with an explanation and often an example of how to fix the sentence. It wasn't just about correcting mistakes; it was about learning. I'd read the explanation and understand the grammar rule. Then I could decide whether to accept the suggestion. It was helpful that I could choose what to do. Grammarly was a guide, not a boss.

As I got more comfortable, I started using Grammarly more often. I wrote everything through it emails, social media posts, even personal notes. This helped me learn grammar better and see the mistakes I made often. For example, I learned I have a habit of using commas wrong. Grammarly always pointed out these errors, helping me fix them.

Besides spelling and grammar, Grammarly has helpful features. The "Clarity" and "Engagement" scores show how well my writing works. The clarity score helped me find sentences that were too long or confusing. The engagement score, while subjective, showed if my writing was interesting. These features encouraged me to write better.

The plagiarism checker is another great tool. Because I often research things, I use Grammarly to make sure I'm not accidentally copying other people's work. This gives me peace of mind and helps me be honest in my writing.

I like that Grammarly can change to fit my needs. I can tell it how I want to write formal, casual, or creative and Grammarly will give different suggestions. This makes it very flexible.

My experience with Grammarly wasn't about becoming a perfect writer right away. It was a slow process of getting better. It’s a tool that has helped me write with more confidence and accuracy. I've become a more careful writer. Grammarly is always helping me improve my writing. It's not just a grammar checker; it's a helper in my writing process, helping me get my ideas across clearly.

I stop using Grammarly because of its obsession with minimalism. What if I have a 1000 word quota but I cant reach it because Grammarly keeps trimming my work. Use free mode and dont invest money on premium as premium will gut out 30 percent of your article as it does not respect your word count quota.

My handwriting is what is bad. I am often told that my handwriting is hard to read. So, if a document needs to be created, the library can be utilized.

Aside from language correction, Grammarly has some clever ways to help you make your writing more engaging. Clarity helps you write short, concise sentences that are easy to understand, while Engagement tells you if your words are engaging enough to keep the reader engaged. These metrics give you the confidence to improve your work and ensure your message comes across clearly and without any confusion.
