Right now I'm procrastinating, I'm putting off learning some new programming frameworks because the documentation is tideous to go through. I would be lying if I said I didn't dread starting, but in return I'm acomplishing one of my other goals for today and that is writing this article, which I've been putting off for a while too. Do you see the pattern here? The hardest part of doing something is the initial part, starting out without a clue of what you're about to do and if it's even going to be successful.
Procrastination is something that every person suffers from, it's a common tendency for humans to put off things and instead do something else that makes them feel good and relaxed. No one will ever choose work instead of having fun if you gave them the choice, but we have to do our part in society and "produce", not just consume.
Everything comes down to how disciplined you are, no motivation or anything. If you only rely on motivation you're going to burn out in just a few days. It's important to work on your discipline since that will help you accomplish your goals even when you don't feel like doing anything, after a while things will become part of your daily routine like brushing your teeth or eating. You don't think about cleaning your teeth as work, right? Well, that's because it's something you do without even thinking, imagine if you could have the same attitude regarding your daily duties.

Despite determination and a strong will to succeed, many people think too much about the future and forget to live in the present. Instead of searching for the unknown and how things will pan out start doing stuff in the present and the puzzle will slowly solve itself as long as you progress. You can't "connect the dots" looking forward and see what works out for you and what doesn't, you'll only be able to do it by going backwards and reflecting on your accomplishments. I'm sure most of us are thinking about our future right now, we're probably envisioning something that is yet to happen, it's important to realize that being in control is just an illusion, not a reality. Try to plan out your day tomorrow exactly and see how it turns out. It will probably be way different than what you thought.
For a long time I was worried about working too much, about turning myself away from the real world an that's a definite possibility, but don't get stuck in the same rut that I was in. You'll know exactly when your work life impacts your social one, trust yourself that you'll make a good decision then.
Be balanced, live your life on two fronts. Hustle all day and make your life better but keep in mind that spending time with your friends is not a waste of your existence, in hindsight I realized they're all you can have at the end of the day. Isolating yourself from all your friendships will not improve your living.
Stop focusing on the ones that don't matter, on things that don't deserve your attention and start living your life. You only have one, it'll be gone before you know it. Time doesn't care about you, you're the only one that can guide yourself through life and if you don't live in the moment your existence will only be a flashback.
