Social Media for the Win - Social Media for Business Owners

Postby TeacherAngel » 30 Dec 2016, 14:35

Social media is here to stay. It is something that business owners should keep in mind. A lot of people, private individuals mostly have social media accounts. These people come from different countries. This enables business owners to broaden their reach. When social media pages are used properly, its potentials are endless. This is why establishing social media accounts is beneficial for business owners no matter what type of business they have.\

Be realistic

In any endeavor, it is very important to set goals. However, when it comes to a social media page, their goals should be realistic. This will ensure that they will not be expecting too much from their social media pages. This will teach them how to break down a broad goal into smaller, specific ones that will enable them to achieve bits of the bigger goal until everything is met or fulfilled. It is a technique that is applicable to social media pages, their business, and life in general. This will also allow business owners to delegate tasks so that bits of their social media goals are being worked on simultaneously, leading to achieving their goals faster.

Plan ahead

It is important that business owners have a clear vision of how their social media pages will be used. They should also have a plan on how to use their social media pages, its features, and other applications or tools to meet their goals. The most important part of a social media page is its contents so these should be chosen carefully, putting a lot of things into consideration. Business owners should have an accurate idea on what the customers want and how they want it. Also, in posting contents, the content itself is just about as important as the timing.

Check regularly

Business owners should be able to identify whether their social media goals are being met or not. This comes easy when the business owner is aware of his or her goals. In this case, they know what they have to look for. This is why it is very important to set specific goals. The first thing that business owners usually need to check is the page traffic. With the proper tools, they will be able to check how many unique visits their page got in a specific period of time. Likewise, these tools can help business owners generate reports that may be used as bases for improvement.

Be aware

Business owners should know everything about the social media pages demographic. This will allow business owners to set realistic goals according to the social networking site users. Each social networking site is different from another. This is why it is very important for business owners to understand how each social networking site works and its difference from other sites. This will help them identify the appropriate contents and the proper timing for posting these contents. They should also know how their posts will be seen by other social networking site members so they can maximize each post.

Yes, I actually witnessed it in a newly-opened pizza place here in our neighborhood. It started with a Facebook post from one of my friends and before I know it, my news feed was filled with photos and reviews about the pizza place. It actually made me decide to go there myself. I had to wait for almost an hour but it was worth the wait. That's a simple example of the power of social media from a personal experience. When I saw a post, I casually acknowledged that there's a new pizza place int he neighborhood but when such posts filled my news feed, I just have to be there and try their pizza myself. :)
