Android is open source operating system. So developers always can make changes in it and can provide better features by doing lots of changes in coding. But for that first they need to remove lock, I mean first we need to root the android device. But the first question is what is meaning of rooting android device? Well let’s first learn about what is rooting so that we can understand about its risk factors later on.
What is Android Rooting?
By default our android phone comes with lock so that we can’t access root (system) folder on our phone. Of course this is for security reasons as accessing root folder can be risky in many ways. So in simple word Rooting android means to grant access on root (system) folder.
How to Root android phone?
Well, it’s not that easy as I described above. I mean rooting process is bit complicated. Different phones have different methods of rooting phone. Some methods are easy and some are very complicated. So we just need to follow the procedure particularly available for our phone model. You can search about the same on internet because I obviously can’t describe all of them here.
Risk in rooting android phone
Well, as I said method rooting is not that easy sometimes. And procedure is different for different phone. So even by mistake we do something wrong during process our phone can get bricked easily. So better we know all the things properly first before trying.
Risks after rooting the android device
If you able to successfully root your android device then it doesn’t mean you are now safe. There are certain risks involved even after rooting the android phone. Here are some risks involved in rooted android phone.
Security: As I said rooting is accessing system folder of android. Well, it is like removing lock so because of that after rooting your phone is less secured by many ways. Viruses and malware can easily access the system files via third party app.
Phone can brick: As we can access system folder so even if by mistake if something goes wrong and you delete the system file then your phone is dead for sure.
Some apps may not work: This is not problem but I have heard that after rooting your device some certain app may stop working because of security reasons.
Voiding warranty: This is the big reason. Almost all companies don’t allow rooting your android phone because of security reasons. So if you are rooting then it is totally on your risk. I mean companies don’t provide warranty on rooted device. So it is like voiding warranty.
So this is it. I guess these are the certain risks involved in the rooting any android phone. Honestly speaking there are more advantages in compare to disadvantages of this thing. But better to know about all risks before trying. I will try to explore its advantages in my next article. Rooting is not simple thing so better you know everything about it before trying. You can ask me anything about the same in comments. Thanks.
