Do you experience having a memory loss? Regardless it is a small or big case, you still have some problems with your memory. To be honest, I am suffering for this one for a long time now and at present, I am still doing my best to work on it. I am still on the research on how to improve my memory. Let me share you the things I learned from my research.
Getting Enough Sleep
Without a long and enough sleep, you will not able to remember your dream the next day. This is real. Do you notice that when you remember your last dream or next to your last dream, or even you remember that you had two to three dreams, this means you had enough sleep? The 6 to 8 hours of sleep is the REM Sleep. Every sleep process should reach REM. If you lose the opportunity to sleep that long, your will have memory loss, little by little.
Drink Plenty of Water
If your brain is dehydrated, it would able to focus. The work of water is to push your blood to your brain as well and to give oxygen to your body. Drinking plenty of water is highly recommended.
You need to Exercise
Exercise helps the brain in direct and indirect ways. When you exercise, it reduces inflammation that really helps your brain. It even stimulates the growth of new blood cells. It indirectly helps you to sleep better and drink water once you get dehydrated while moving. It even reduces stress and anxiety that helps you to focus on what you need to focus.
Eat Salty in Moderation, put Salt in Your Diet
Salt is a stimulator to your brain to create a new memory. Too much salt is bad to your memory. Try to put salt that will not make it too salty to your taste.
Work on your Stress
If you have lists of things that stress you, you need to work on it one by one. Stress is the number one enemy of your brain. It leads you to have Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia if you are inviting stress regularly. Remember, the time when you are stressed is also the time you have poor memory and focus. Do not entertain it but rather work on it. Inhale and exhale is one of the first ways to solve the stress. You also need to work on stress by acting on the stress and not thinking about being overwhelmed.
Avoid Too Much Sugar
Hippocampus is a part of the brain that is sugar sensitive. Hippocampus works on your learning, memory and long-term memory. Avoid excessive sugar for better memories, especially very sweet candies and soft drinks. Some say that sugar is a food of the brain, yes it indeed, but not too much of it.
Avoid Too Much Alcohol
Alcohol could endanger your brain. Those who are drunk do not even remember what they did after having a beer night. They start denying everything that they did. Too much alcohol even slows down your brain response to problems. However, a small glass of wine could help you with your memory too. Just always drink moderately.
What are your ways to improve your memory? I love to hear from you!
