Have you found yourself looking from a far, you are not blinking your eyes, there are lots of dirty clothes in the background, a baby crying in the bed, you are holding the feeding bottle with all your hairs became like Tina Turner (you don’t know her, Google her), you need to iron some clothes pile up in the sofa, you remember you need to get some grocery, pay bills and you realized you haven’t been taking a bath lately?
Even with my imagination, it is hard to breathe already. Anxiety attacks automatically with some people because you are lacking organization, prioritization, control, and planning. Even if you are just doing household chores you need to apply these points below to getting things done when you know you have so much to do.
There are points that you need to solve first before you start working.
First, you need to write all that you need to do, from baby stuff, writing stuff, pet stuff, household chores, food stuff, get away stuff, personal stuff and all the stuff that is invented in the world. Get a notebook and pen and write it all. You don’t have to put a number, you just need to freely think of all the things you need to get done. Remember, all the things you get down.
Second, find the things that you do regularly, your priority in a day, things that can be done on a specific day, things that can be done only on the weekend or you can squeeze it out in the weekend, things that you need to do with the help of a person or family member, things that a family member can do for you, and things that will be helpful for the coming days or week that needs to be done this week.
Third, if you already categorized all the things you needed to do, apply prioritization. Even if the things listed are to be done on the weekend, you still need to have it prioritized if it is needed to be prioritized.
Fourth, sometimes you will put a lot of things in a day because you realized you really need to do it. On the scenario, prioritization will be applied by thinking which will be on the number one spot. On that day, sometimes, there are some new things that will come along so you will adjust the plan. Prioritization should be strictly applied because if not, it ruins the preparation.
Fifth, even if you have a lot of things to do, you need to put something that will give you relaxation at the end of the day. It includes having a warm bath, pampering yourself, tea time, talking with your loved one, listening to music, watching your favorite program and playing with your pets. The purpose is to clear your mind for exhaustion you have been doing almost every day. You need to know that you always have an ME Time, every day, not only when you have time.
Sixth, on your notes or planning, there are times that you did not meet your plan. Put a column for the reason. You must apply analyzation to recognize if your reason is valid for that specific activity. If the reason is valid or not you will learn from it for sure. From there, you learned how to work react to a certain situation, to say no to some invitation and to strictly apply your prioritization.
Seventh, if you can put the time you start up to the time you activity ends, much better. Some people can do it, but some people don’t. You also need to put reason when some task eats all your time. This point is optional but if you do it, you will finally realize you are weak in some areas of your task and you need to adjust your stamina.
Eight, on the part that you need help, be reminded that you need people that could really help you, seriously and not the ones that are always beside you but just looking at you when you ask them for help. If you want to get things done you need to find a partner that has the same level of organization as you are.
Ninth, you need to find time to write your plans before you end or start your day. Depending on the time which you find it comfortable, you really need to spend time writing your plans. Remember failing to plan is like planning to fail.
Tenth, remember that even if you plan it there will still things that will ruin your day. There is no perfect even with planning. You need to accept the flaws but it doesn’t mean you will stop from there. Planning is still the best option than being insane with so much to do.
